About this skill

The problem

Early product growth often hits a two-sided deadlock: without users there is little value, and without value it is hard to attract users. This skill turns “zero to 1000 users” into an executable sequence, starting with the smallest value network instead of broad paid acquisition, feature stacking, or chasing growth everywhere.

How it works

  • Find the atomic network: identify the hard side user and the minimum group that already creates value, such as design teams, engineering teams, power users, or gaming communities; then find where those people already gather.
  • Start manually: use concierge onboarding, Reddit value-first posts, personalized cold DMs, staged waitlist invites, and B2B design partners to collect feedback, testimonials, case references, and pilot revenue.
  • Handle marketplaces: two-sided platforms should usually seed supply first, launch with roughly 2x supply vs demand, ensure early demand is immediately satisfied, and then let positive transactions drive word of mouth.
  • Check when cold start is over: watch organic signups > manual signups, referral coefficient, Day-7 retention, and users revealing real needs.

Boundaries

This approach fits early products, B2B SaaS, or two-sided platforms looking for a first cohort of credible users. It is not a scaled growth model for mature products; it assumes you can manually reach target users, validate value quickly, and invest a small amount of manual work to earn early feedback.

Use Cases

  • Recruit 3 B2B design partners with pilot terms.
  • Seed marketplace supply before inviting demand.
  • Draft Reddit and LinkedIn cold outreach posts.
  • Run concierge onboarding for 10 seed users.

Best For

  • Early SaaS founders: find B2B design partners.
  • Marketplace operators: seed supply first.
  • Growth operators: draft Reddit and DM outreach.
  • PMs: design concierge onboarding for seeds.
