About this skill

Problem: Lesson Plans Often Start as Timetables

Teachers may list class segments before defining objectives, producing goals such as understand or master that are hard to assess. xiaozhi-teach-lesson-planner shifts the design focus from a checklist to a thinking map: expected results first, evidence next, activities last.

How It Works: UbD-Based Generation

The skill follows UbD stages:

  • Stage 1: Converts standards, unit goals, or topic input into observable three-dimensional objectives.
  • Stage 2: Pairs each objective with assessable evidence, reducing vague goals.
  • Stage 3: Builds a six-step lesson sequence with timing, failure modes, and teacher responses.

It also generates a Bloom-level question chain with backup follow-up questions. When class-profile data is supplied by xiaozhi-teach-student-analyzer, it can output A/B/C tiered plans with different examples, practice loads, question levels, and attention focus.

Boundaries: Explicit Context Required

Without student data, it outputs a basic plan and labels it as such instead of inventing profiles. Timing defaults to 45 minutes; other durations must be specified by the teacher. Final plans remain teacher-controlled, making the skill useful for new lessons, review sessions, test debriefs, and group lesson design.

Use Cases

  • A math teacher prepares a new lesson on linear functions and asks for observable objectives, assessment evidence, and a 45-minute sequence.
  • A teacher receives exam score-rate data and asks for a debriefing lesson with backup follow-up questions on weak points.
  • A teaching group redesigns an existing lesson plan into UbD format and differentiates tasks for basic, standard, and advanced tiers.

Best For

  • K-12 subject teachers who want to turn vague goals into observable behaviors with Bloom questions and practice tasks.
  • Class teachers or subject teachers who need A/B/C differentiated plans after receiving class-profile data.
  • Teaching leads who want to reshape individual lesson plans into a shareable UbD model for group preparation.
