About this skill
Problem
When troubleshooting servers or learning Shell, commands like ls -la or awk '{print $2}' can combine options, pipes, and wildcards, while man pages may be too broad. This skill focuses on how the current command is used, making it easier to confirm parameter meanings and examples quickly.
How It Works
The skill uses an interactive loop: the user enters a Linux command, and the model explains it with a fixed structure. Each explanation typically covers basic introduction, basic syntax, common options, and practical examples, with related commands when useful. Explanations are in Chinese, for example describing -i as “confirm before deleting” or -rf as “recursive force deletion.” If the command does not exist, it asks whether the spelling is wrong; if input is empty or unclear, it asks for a Linux command; exit, q, or “退出” ends the session.
Boundaries
It is meant for explaining common commands, not as a complete system manual, and may not cover all distro differences. For destructive commands such as rm, dd, and mkfs, verify paths and options first; complex scripts still need man, --help, and environment-specific testing.
Use Cases
- While reviewing an old server script, enter `find /var/log -name '*.gz'` to check the log-file search parameters.
- Before investigating disk usage, enter `du -sh /var/log/*` to explain directory-size statistics and sorting examples.
- When learning `awk '{print $2}'`, enter the command to get syntax, options, and examples for extracting the second column.
- Before running `chmod 755 /app/start.sh`, enter the command to confirm permission-bit meanings and common usage.
Best For
- SREs taking over unfamiliar servers and needing to decode existing Shell script parameters
- CS students learning Linux file and text-processing commands with Chinese examples
- DevOps engineers meeting unfamiliar commands in CI logs and needing parameter confirmation
- Candidates preparing for basic Linux interviews and needing quick command syntax review
