About this skill

Problem

Network and system configuration often gets stuck on platform differences, parameter provenance, and rollback risk. The same static IP, firewall rule, or VLAN setup may require different commands on Ubuntu, CentOS, Cisco, Huawei, or H3C. In production, missing validation, accidental deletions, and locked remote sessions are common. cli-config-assistant organizes these steps into copy-paste-ready command blocks with parameter notes and undo plans.

How It Works

The skill targets Linux, Windows Server, and mainstream network devices, then generates CLI configurations for the user's scenario:
- Configuration generation: output includes checks, core commands, verification, and rollback.
- Knowledge-base search: for weak-current, security, and structured cabling scenarios, it prioritizes standards, parameters, and device commands from the 《弱电智能化AI》 base.
- Parameter tracing: key values such as VLAN ID, PoE power, subnet masks, and ACL numbers are annotated with sources where possible.
- Safety warnings: high-risk operations, cross-platform commands, and remote lockout risks are flagged before execution.

Boundaries

It fits CLI configuration, network troubleshooting, and scripted deployment across netplan, firewalld, PowerShell, Cisco IOS, Huawei VRP, H3C Comware, and MikroTik RouterOS. It is not for SQL, cloud consoles, or general programming tasks. If a parameter is not found in the knowledge base, the output should be treated as a general CLI recommendation and validated before deployment.

Use Cases

  • Configure ens33 as a static IP on an Ubuntu 20.04 server, then verify gateway and DNS.
  • Open ports 8080 and 443 on CentOS 8 with firewalld, restricting access to one subnet.
  • Split a Cisco switch into VLANs, configuring access ports and an uplink Trunk port.
  • Enable SSH, disable Telnet, and set administrator idle timeout on a Huawei S5735 switch.

Best For

  • Operations engineers configuring data center switch access layers, needing VLAN and Trunk commands.
  • Implementation engineers delivering weak-current projects, organizing camera, BA gateway, and PoE parameters.
  • Systems engineers deploying services on Ubuntu/CentOS, needing static IP, firewall, and startup commands.
  • Windows Server administrators opening RDP for a specific subnet and changing the default remote port.
