About this skill

Problem

Literature review often suffers from broad time frames, inconsistent fields, and mixed conclusions. Recent papers on the same topic may be scattered across abstracts, methods sections, and metadata sources, making it hard to assemble material for a review, proposal, or research planning note.

How It Works

The skill runs a 6D workflow. Define confirms the topic, use case, and default parameters; Decompose separates research questions, methods, claimed innovations, limitations, and open problems; Design Fields organizes each paper into 28 structured fields; Discover searches sources such as Scholar, Semantic Scholar, Crossref, and arXiv for the last 30 days while adding representative papers from the past 1–3 years for comparison; Digest deduplicates, cleans, and separates author claims from model-informed judgment; Deliver produces a Chinese report with an overview table, per-paper summaries, cross-paper comparison, emerging trends, open questions, and an Excel/CSV field sheet.

Notes

It is useful for recent literature reviews, topic scouting, and technical route mapping, but it does not replace manual verification. When full text is unavailable, mark it as full text unverified; preprints should be marked as not peer reviewed. If the topic is broad, constrain it with keywords, discipline, and application scope first.

Use Cases

  • Before thesis proposal, map recent high-quality papers in a field, their methods, and key innovations.
  • While writing a review, organize papers from the last 30 days into title, abstract, innovation, limitations, and open problems.
  • For a grant proposal, summarize recent progress, incremental gains over prior work, and unresolved questions.
  • When designing a technical route, compare recent papers' models, datasets, metrics, and reproducibility gaps.

Best For

  • Graduate students: organize recent papers, methods, and innovations in a chosen field into a structured table before a proposal or review.
  • Project leads: summarize recent progress, open problems, and possible research entry points for grant applications.
  • Technical leads: review the latest models, experimental setups, metrics, and limitations before scheme evaluation.
  • Research assistants: clean multi-source abstracts into a 28-field list and draft cross-paper comparisons.
