About this skill

Problem

CET-4 and CET-6 study often includes a high-frequency word list, but not much structure for practice. CET Word Challenge turns bundled word lists into usable study artifacts: quizzes, flashcards, and study sheets. Output can be markdown for notes/printing or html for browser-based interaction.

How It Works

  • Data: references/cet4_words.json with 601 CET-4 words and references/cet6_words.json with 557 CET-6 words.
  • Quizzes: generate_quiz.py supports multiple-choice, fill-in, and matching.
  • Flashcards: generate_flashcards.py creates printable or spaced-repetition cards.
  • Study sheets: generate_study_sheet.py organizes words by frequency, topic, or difficulty.
  • Common options: --level cet4|cet6|both, --format markdown|html, --output, --count.
  • HTML output is self-contained: flashcards support flip, keyboard navigation, and shuffle; quizzes reveal answers on click; study sheets include searchable filtering.

Boundaries

It is intended for CET high-frequency vocabulary practice, not for full vocabulary coverage, grammar instruction, or exam-question context. The HTML is generated directly by the scripts without external templates. Custom word lists must follow the same JSON format in references/ and be passed with --wordlist.

Use Cases

  • A CET-6 candidate generates multiple-choice, fill-in, and matching quizzes for 50 high-frequency words.
  • A self-directed learner turns 40 CET-4 words into printable flashcards for morning and evening review.
  • An English teacher organizes a CET-4 word list by frequency as a stage-review handout.
  • A test-taker exports a custom word list into HTML flashcards for spaced repetition in a browser.

Best For

  • CET-4/CET-6 exam candidates who need practice quizzes over high-frequency words.
  • Self-directed English learners who want flashcards or study sheets for spaced review.
  • English teachers who need printable vocabulary practice materials.
  • Content editors who want browser-openable HTML vocabulary practice pages.
