About this skill

Problem It Addresses

When learning a concrete technology, the bottleneck is usually not missing documentation, but being unable to verify whether the concept is actually understood. A learner may recite terms, run working code, and then rely on hints as soon as variants, edge cases, or failure scenarios appear. Adaptive Quick Learning Coach targets this gap by shifting the goal from “reading through once” to “verifiable mastery” through single-step questioning, error simulation, and follow-up probing.

How It Works

It opens with an interactive menu and supports commands such as /plan, /explain, /simulate, /test, /worstcase, and /feynman:

  • Learning path planning: produces a 7-day guide with 45-minute daily tasks, objective completion criteria, and common beginner pitfalls.
  • Concept explanation with analogies: maps difficult terms to everyday scenarios, then immediately asks three comprehension questions; the next topic is blocked until the user answers correctly.
  • Error simulation: builds a realistic case with a hidden classic trap. When the user hits it, the coach asks follow-up questions instead of revealing the answer directly.
  • Gap detection and reverse teaching: uses pointed questions to expose shallow fluency; in /feynman, the AI acts as a weak student and challenges the user to explain coherently.

The interaction enforces single-step output, withholding final answers, and a professional coaching tone, which avoids dumping multiple conclusions at once and reduces empty encouragement.

Boundaries

It is best for deliberate practice on a specific concept, tool, or workflow, especially when engineers are preparing interviews, learning a new framework, or stress-testing their understanding. Because the flow depends on continuous questioning, it is less suitable when the user only wants a direct answer, a full tutorial, or automated assessment.

Use Cases

  • When learning a new framework, use /explain to break down core concepts and answer 3 verification questions.
  • Before an architecture interview, use /simulate to work through a realistic case and uncover hidden traps.
  • While explaining cache coherence, use /feynman to make the coach ask for examples until the logic is sound.
  • When auditing weak spots, use /test to answer 5 essential deep-dive questions.

Best For

  • Engineers preparing technical interviews who need to explain system design concepts clearly
  • Frontend engineers learning a new framework who want error simulation to reveal their traps
  • Tech leads mentoring juniors who need to verify real understanding, not surface recall
  • Ops engineers preparing certifications who want deep questioning to expose knowledge gaps
