About this skill

Problem

Product research often stops at specs, ratings, and generic pros and cons. Practitioners, strategists, and founders need to understand design decisions, business logic, growth mechanics, and competitive moats, but manual research tends to become fragmented or template-like.

How It Works

The skill splits the task into two stages:
- Stage 1: six-dimension research: it generates materials on product design and UX, business model, market positioning, growth and retention, and team/ecosystem, then uses a sixth dimension to consolidate facts.
- Stage 2: synthesis: after reading all files, it writes an independent insight covering overview, design logic, growth moats, evolution, and sharp judgments.
Each dimension requires multiple searches, and key claims should be supported by numbers and sources; the synthesis avoids phrases like as stated in dimension X and keeps traceability out of the final body.

Boundaries

It fits deep analysis for apps, SaaS, consumer electronics, cars, and hybrid products. It explains why a product is shaped this way and how it works, not whether to buy it; limited external sources can reduce data density.

Use Cases

  • Assess an enterprise tool entering a vertical market by generating a six-dimension report covering business model, growth flywheel, and positioning.
  • Review a consumer hardware product's retention bottleneck by organizing growth mechanics, UX, and moats into a synthesis.
  • Study a software-hardware product's ecosystem fit to infer its stage, core tension, and likely evolution.
  • Prepare product-logic material for a launch review by unpacking design decisions, monetization, and risk-opportunity signals.

Best For

  • Product managers who need to unpack design decisions and retention mechanics
  • Founders preparing launch or fundraising materials that require growth flywheel and moat analysis
  • Strategy analysts comparing competitor stages and looking for opportunity signals
  • Product researchers studying software-hardware ecosystems and needing an independent insight write-up
