Problem

HeyGen video generation depends on templates, variables, and asynchronous job status. Direct API use can miss required template fields, skip template inspection, mishandle processing state, or use expired share links. This skill organizes common HeyGen operations into a set of HEYGEN_* tools, letting an agent run a complete flow across templates, avatars, generation tasks, and shareable links.

Core capabilities and steps

• Browse templates first: use HEYGEN_V2_TEMPLATES to discover templates, then HEYGEN_RETRIEVE_TEMPLATE_DETAILS_V3 to get variable names, scene mappings, and required fields.
• Select avatars: use HEYGEN_V2_AVATARS to inspect available avatars and handle paginated results.
• Generate video: call HEYGEN_V2_TEMPLATE_GENERATE with the title and all template variables.
• Poll status: use HEYGEN_RETRIEVE_VIDEO_STATUS_DETAILS until the job completes.
• Get share link: call HEYGEN_RETRIEVE_SHARABLE_VIDEO_URL to obtain a public URL.

Boundaries and cautions

Best for existing HeyGen accounts and workflow automation through Composio MCP. It does not replace content planning, script writing, or asset preparation. Missing or misnamed template variables can cause generation failures. Video URLs can expire, so call the status endpoint again to refresh them.
