About this skill

Problem

Startup conversations often stop at “sounds viable.” Customer fit, revenue logic, policy exposure, and market momentum are discussed without one auditable rubric, so high scores can lack evidence and advice can stay vague. This skill reframes a business idea as a set of checkable dimensions.

How it works

It extends the classic Business Model Canvas with Policy Environment and Market Heat & Trend, producing an 11-point rubric covering customer segments, value proposition, channels, relationships, revenue, resources, activities, partners, costs, policy, and trend. The workflow asks questions in small batches, scores each dimension from 1-5, and requires source labels such as public data, policy documents, funding data, or user claims. It then compares industry leaders, contrasts one success case with one failure case, and generates an HTML report with an 11-axis radar chart, benchmarks, and concrete next steps.

Boundaries

It is useful for feasibility diagnostics, pre-BP structuring, and competitor-model comparison. It is not investment due diligence, legal compliance advice, or financial forecasting. When evidence is missing, the output should mark it as needs verification instead of assigning a high score.

Use Cases

  • Before fundraising, score a startup idea across 11 dimensions and generate an HTML risk report.
  • Diagnose an existing business by checking policy risk, market heat, and revenue-model gaps.
  • Compare competitor models and extract actionable breakthroughs from success and failure cases.
  • Add a structured assessment section to a BP with evidence labels and missing-data flags.

Best For

  • Founders preparing fundraising who need a checkable 11-dimension risk checklist.
  • BP owners who need policy, trend, and benchmarking evidence for investors.
  • Industry analysts who need to structure cases, funding, and index signals.
  • New-business leads diagnosing model gaps and finding executable pivots.
