Todo List Web App Generator

Problem Context

Building a todo app can look simple, but practical delivery often gets stuck on specifics: whether task fields include priority and due date, whether the UI adapts to mobile, whether data persists locally, and whether existing tasks can be imported or exported. This skill packages those concerns into a generated template plus scripts, aimed at developers who need a quick front-end todo page rather than a full product spec.

How It Works

The workflow is script-driven. scripts/generate_todo_app.py generates complete HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code with a customizable title and color scheme. The generated page includes task creation, reading, updating, and deletion, completion state, priority, and due-date fields. scripts/todo_manager.py provides command-line data management: import from JSON, export to JSON, batch add/delete/update, and generate task statistics. Deployment is lightweight: open the generated HTML file in a browser, with no third-party runtime dependencies.

Use it within its boundaries: data is stored in browser LocalStorage, so clearing site data or switching browsers can lose it; there is no backend, authentication, or cross-device sync; batch import must follow the format described in references/data_format.md; and advanced feature work depends on the provided templates and reference docs, so it should not be treated as a ready-made high-availability service.
