Preparing English reading materials often requires repetitive formatting: highlighting vocabulary, summarizing paragraphs, building glossaries, explaining answers, and filling blanks. English Reading Text Annotator converts English reading passages into a ready-to-open HTML study page, with a focus on reading comprehension, seven-choice, cloze, grammar fill-in-the-blank, and short-text error correction, reducing manual layout work for teachers and students.

How It Works

The skill first identifies the input: plain text is processed directly, images are sent to OCR, and docx files are converted with pandoc; older .doc files should be resaved as docx first. It then splits the document, detects question types, and confirms scope before processing. For supported types, it restores answers, highlights B2-level or higher vocabulary, generates paragraph summaries, a vocabulary table, and topic/style analysis. Reading-comprehension explanations cite source text, explain reasoning, and briefly eliminate wrong options. The output is a self-contained HTML file with embedded CSS; multiple passages are merged by default, with section navigation and zoom controls.

Boundaries

It does not handle listening, oral testing, writing, or spelling tasks, and it does not transcribe audio. Multi-passage documents are processed one at a time to avoid context overload. If unsupported question types are present, the skill lists what can be processed and what will be skipped before continuing.
