Problem

When an AI agent needs external services, it often has to integrate search, GitHub, email, finance, and content-generation APIs separately. Each service may use different parameters, auth flows, and response shapes. Uno CLI collapses 2000+ real tools behind one command surface: search for a tool, build arguments from its input_schema, then call it, which fits agent workflows better than scattered SDKs.

How It Works

Auth: Uses a Device Code flow with ClawdChat SSO. Credentials are stored in ~/.uno/credentials.json; UNO_API_KEY can override file credentials in CI.
Discovery: Commands output formatted JSON by default. Search results include input_schema, so agents can construct parameters instead of guessing slugs or fields.
Invocation: --compact emits single-line JSON to reduce token usage. Successful calls return success, data, and sometimes latency_ms and credits_used.
Errors: auth_required, tool_not_found, insufficient_credits, and timeout errors return error and hint, with non-zero exit codes for scripting.
Coverage: Includes 13 categories and 156+ services across search, dev, social, data, creative, finance, productivity, media, and enterprise, such as Jina, GitHub, Gmail, Supabase, and ElevenLabs.

Boundaries

Uno is a tool gateway, not a guarantee that all third-party quotas, permissions, and compliance boundaries are identical. The free tier has 100 credits per day, so check credits before heavy use; when multiple services offer the same capability, prefer higher calls_7d or rating. If descriptions are truncated, fetch full details with tool get; disconnected OAuth may require re-auth on the next call.
