About this skill
The Problem
Whether a claim can still be brought often depends on how limitation periods accrue, what evidence proves interruption, and what remedies remain after expiry. Casual calls, messages, and courier receipts are easy to collect but hard to assess legally.
How It Works
The skill turns statute-of-limitations analysis into a structured workflow:
- Period selection: distinguishes the 3-year ordinary period, special periods, and the 20-year maximum protection window;
- Accrual check: maps the claim to a repayment date, demand date, or final installment date;
- Interruption and suspension: separates events such as demand, acknowledgment, litigation, or arbitration from force majeure and other suspension grounds;
- Evidence guidance: suggests traceable actions like demand letters, EMS receipts, message screenshots, recordings, and repayment acknowledgments;
- Remedy analysis: even after expiry, it checks whether the debtor may waive the defense, confirm the debt, or perform voluntarily.
Boundaries
The output is practical legal-risk triage, not formal legal advice. Different claim types, evidence quality, and legal updates can change the result; property claims, personal-status claims, and some statutory exceptions fall outside the applicable scenarios.
Use Cases
- A collections team finds a claim close to the 3-year limitation deadline and needs to test whether WeChat, SMS, or courier evidence interrupts the period, then build a demand-letter action list.
- A legal specialist reviews multiple installment loans, checking final repayment dates, whether litigation or arbitration has started, and whether debtor acknowledgments restart the limitation period.
- A customer-service lead organizes overdue complaint records, identifying which call or message evidence proves the debtor received a demand and which items need corrective proof of delivery.
- A business manager handles a goods-payment claim older than 3 years, analyzing whether the debtor may raise a limitation defense, whether written confirmation restarts the period, and what remedies remain before filing.
Best For
- Finance staff tracking receivables who need to determine whether an overdue payment is near its limitation deadline and list evidence and demand actions.
- Legal specialists handling contract disputes who need to verify accrual points, interruption grounds, and litigation or arbitration milestones for multiple claims.
- Customer-service managers owning complaint and collection records who need to distinguish communications that prove demand delivery from those requiring correction.
- B2B business managers chasing payment who need to decide before the deadline whether to send demand letters, notarize delivery, or file immediately.
