About this skill

The problem

Pre-open HK market review often requires checking Hang Seng performance, sector rotation, southbound flows, overnight announcements, broker views, and external factors such as US tech names, A50 futures, FX, and rates. These signals are scattered across terminals, making it hard to assemble a consistent daily brief or explain which data point came from which API and when it was updated. 港股资讯早报 standardizes this morning research workflow for analysts or engineers who need an archived, reviewable market brief.

How it works

The skill uses the Gildata MCP financial database through mcporter and tools such as jy-financedata-api and jy-financedata-tool. The core flow fetches daily quotes for the Hang Seng Index and related indices, pulls technical indicators, counts advancers and decliners, ranks industry and concept sectors, tracks southbound net inflows and active traded stocks, summarizes overnight announcements and broker reports, and optionally adds US China ADRs, A50 futures, FX, and bond yields. It then synthesizes a 5,000-8,000 character report in Markdown and HTML; the HTML version should include ECharts visualizations for index trends and fund flows.

Traceability is explicit: key figures in the body are followed by footnote-style markers such as [1] or [2], and the report ends with source tools, update times, and query parameters. The default period is the previous trading day, while phrases like “last 3 days” or “this week” are also supported. Files are saved under reports/ with names like HK-Stock-Morning-Brief_{YYYYMMDD}.

Boundaries

The skill requires a configured MCP service and a JY_API_KEY; environment checks are needed on first use. Coverage includes major HK indices, sectors, announcements, research, and fund flows, but less liquid sectors may have incomplete data. Quotes update in real time during sessions and usually reflect the latest close otherwise. Output is intended as research reference, not investment advice; trading decisions still require independent judgment and compliance review.

Use Cases

  • Before the HK open, review Hang Seng performance, sector rotation, and southbound flows, then generate a short morning brief for the team
  • Summarize overnight announcements, broker rating changes, and external market impacts into a daily HK market note with source markers for review
  • Prepare two versions of the morning material, a text report and an HTML page with ECharts fund-flow charts, for the meeting
  • Review the previous HK trading day, then list today's economic data releases, earnings disclosures, and industry events for pre-open preparation

Best For

  • HK equity analysts preparing morning calls: need concise index, sector, and southbound flow summaries
  • Portfolio researchers tracking overnight announcements: need broker rating changes and institutional views in one report
  • Engineering teams building MCP workflows: need query results formatted into traceable Markdown/HTML briefs
  • Strategy traders focused on HK stocks: need pre-open event, risk, and directional notes
