About this skill

Problem context

Construction contract review often hinges on a narrow set of clauses: contract price, schedule, payment milestones, variation and visa management, liability, and whether cited standards are still current. EPC projects are more exposed because design, procurement, construction, and acceptance can interact. This skill keeps the review focused on the contract text, identifies specific risks, and maps them to reference standards and corrective wording.

How it works

When triggered by a contract file or a review request, it reads PDF, DOCX, or DOC documents and extracts core fields such as parties, contract value, duration, and scope. It then checks 13 dimensions:
- Parties and scope: qualifications, signatures, EPC or general contracting boundaries
- Price and settlement: quotas, bill of quantities, adjustments, payment nodes
- Performance and liability: schedule claims, acceptance, variations, penalties, security
- Disputes and citations: arbitration or jurisdiction, force majeure, standard versions

For each dimension, it produces a clause summary, risk finding, reference basis, risk level, and recommendation. Risk levels are critical, high, medium, and low, with references to GB50500-2013, GF-2017-0201, FIDIC, and the 2025 Shaanxi quota where relevant. It also flags outdated, incorrect, or inapplicable standard citations and proposes the current version where available.

Limits

It does not replace legal advice or decide whether to sign. Scanned PDFs may require OCR. Clauses involving payment, jurisdiction, bank guarantees, termination, and EPC design responsibility should still be reviewed against the project facts. Users can ask it to focus on a single clause area first.

Use Cases

  • Check construction contract pricing, payment milestones, and liability before signing.
  • Review EPC design scope, variation visas, and post-completion test clauses.
  • Verify cited GB standards by version, number, and current validity.
  • Output risk findings by severity and generate a Word audit report.

Best For

  • Project legal staff reviewing construction contracts before signature.
  • EPC contract managers checking scope, variation, and acceptance boundaries.
  • Cost engineers validating pricing and adjustment clauses against GB50500.
  • Project leads comparing FIDIC dispute and guarantee arrangements.
