About this skill
Problem it solves
Team retros, travel logs, and process explainers often need a light but non-official illustration. Generic image models can drift into polished commercial art, 3D rendering, cartoon faces, gradients, or shadows, making the desired “notebook sketch” style unstable and hard to recognize. hand-drawn-doodle constrains the request into reusable visual rules.
How it works and limits
The skill assembles prompts around seven style rules: a white or near-white background, wobbly black line work, black-bean characters with solid oval bodies and white dot eyes, two or three accent colors such as orange, red, and blue, hand-written Chinese labels, decorative elements like explosion frames, route arrows, and motion marks, plus a landscape narrative layout. It first clarifies the scene, key objects, emotional keywords, people and actions, and aspect ratio; then writes an English prompt that lists the exact Chinese text to render. The default generation settings are 1536x1024, high, and natural. After the first image, it checks for faces, gradients, vector-clean lines, or garbled Chinese text, and adds constraints such as no faces, no gradient, wobbly lines, hand-written Chinese characters. It is a good fit for retros, concept explainers, light posters, and document visuals; it is not intended for realistic, 3D, anime, pixel-art, or formal enterprise illustration.
Use Cases
- Create a landscape sketchnote-style illustration for a quarterly team retro, showing milestones, issues, and celebration.
- Generate a light event invitation poster with black-bean characters toasting and an explosion-frame headline.
- Draw a white-background, thin-line diagram with Chinese labels to explain a product feature or approval flow.
- Produce a hand-drawn travel PPT slide showing a snow-mountain hike, route arrows, and campfire scene.
Best For
- A product manager preparing a retro deck who needs a warm, non-formal milestone illustration.
- A content ops writer creating internal event copy who needs light posters and black-bean visuals.
- A tech lead explaining system flows who needs an intuitive hand-drawn approval-chain diagram.
- A documentation engineer maintaining guides who needs white-background doodle-style feature illustrations.
