Problem

Hand-writing draw.io XML is less about producing a diagram than about avoiding small structure errors: Chinese fonts can fall back inconsistently, swimlane and org-chart edges cross, node colors drift, duplicate mxCell IDs appear, or edges miss mxGeometry. This skill turns diagram generation into a set of explicit parameters: diagram type, complexity, theme, canvas size, output format, and content description, then generates a .drawio source file and optional PNG, SVG, or PDF exports.

How It Works

It starts with environment detection for WSL2, Git Bash, macOS, Linux, and Windows cmd, and can install the Draw.io CLI when missing; if installation fails, it still produces the .drawio file for manual export. In interactive mode, it asks for a diagram type such as flowchart, swimlane, orgchart, kanban, mindmap, er, or arch, and for a complexity level: simple, standard, or detailed. Generation emits mxGraphModel XML with Chinese font rules for Microsoft YaHei, PingFang SC, or Noto Sans CJK SC, and applies shapes for decision nodes, process nodes, and start/end nodes.

Boundaries

It works best when the user provides enough structure: roles, entities, relationships, system boundaries, or process steps. If the description is vague, the result is mainly a backbone framework rather than a complete document diagram. Org-chart output requires rounded=0, explicit exit/entry points, and treats group containers as visual boundaries only. JPG and WebP exports do not embed XML.
