About this skill
Problem This Skill Targets
When researching overseas content ideas, competitor moves, or platform trends, the recurring question is: which recent posts are performing the fastest? Manually scanning Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook, Reddit, and Xiaohongshu, then capturing titles, copy, scripts, links, likes, comments, and views is time-consuming and hard to standardize. This skill turns that scattered material into a structured list, making it easier to compare accounts, categories, and time windows.
How It Works
It collects recent trending content across three dimensions: platform, time range, and content category.
- Scope control: You can target specific platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, choose windows like the last 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month, and narrow by categories such as gaming, music, tech, or photography.
- Platform-specific output: Video results typically include title, script, link, views, and likes; image-text posts typically include title, caption, link, and engagement metrics.
- Link fallback: Original links are preferred. If the original is unavailable, it may add rehosted, archived, or third-party versions, with notes for regional restrictions or access issues.
- Data hygiene: Engagement data uses exact values or approximate ranges when available; missing fields are omitted instead of filling the result with none or unknown.
Boundaries
Output depends on network access, platform openness, and content availability, and may be affected by API limits, regional blocks, removals, or different data display formats. The trending score, engagement-rate thresholds, and follower tiers mentioned are triage references, not exact platform statistics.
Use Cases
- Collect recent Instagram and TikTok gaming or music hits for a short-video planning session, including scripts.
- Summarize tech and pet posts from YouTube and Reddit over two weeks, with titles, links, and engagement metrics.
- Gather film, TV, or sports content from Facebook and X over one month as input to a competitor content calendar.
- Compare photography posts across platforms for a date range, recording original links, fallback links, and likes or comments.
Best For
- Creators planning overseas short-form videos who need recent scripts worth breaking down
- Marketers tracking social competitors who need trending posts grouped by platform and category
- Analysts studying overseas audience interests who need comparable engagement signals across platforms
- Editors building content calendars who need recent topics and source links for reference
