What problem it solves

Many .docx files mix body text, headings, spacing, and fonts, making manual formatting slow and error-prone. The Boo AI Docx formatting assistant centralizes common layout parameters in a visual configuration window, which is useful for quickly producing consistently styled reports, papers, business letters, or promotional documents.

How it works

The skill first checks whether a .docx file is available in the current context, then starts a local Web interface. Users can select a built-in template or a custom template, inspect and adjust parameters such as body text, headings, and line spacing, then choose the file and apply the formatting. Key capabilities include:

• Five built-in templates: formal reports, academic papers, business correspondence, promotional copy, and minimal style
• Custom templates: save parameters to my_templates.json, and import, export, or manage templates
• Style-driven formatting: removes direct paragraph formatting by default, while preserving manual bold and italic runs
• Non-destructive output: writes a new file named original_filename_template_name.docx instead of modifying the source file

Scope and caveats

This skill targets .docx layout and does not replace complex layout work involving formulas, charts, or mail merge. For documents with advanced Word objects or strict OOXML requirements, review the generated file manually. The local UI defaults to http://127.0.0.1:5080, and results are delivered as new files.
