About this skill

The Problem

Before Chinese official documents are released, the risk is not always poor style. It is non-compliant formatting, unverifiable citations, conflicting numbers, and imprecise wording. In a notice, request, report, or letter, a typo, misattributed quote, or ambiguous phrase such as “strengthen supervision and management” can affect credibility, enforceability, and compliance. Human review is often uneven because it depends on individual experience and cannot consistently cover format, language, numbers, logic, and semantics.

How It Works

The skill breaks proofreading into seven checks: format, citation sourcing, wording errors, numbers and dates, official style, logical consistency, and semantic ambiguity. Given a draft, it first identifies the document type, title, recipient, body, signature, and related structural elements, then reviews each dimension:

  • Format: checks header, title, body, signature, seal, and notes against GB/T 9704-2012.
  • Citations: extracts direct quotes, uses search and fetch to find authoritative sources, and includes accessible URLs for manual verification.
  • Text and data: flags typos, missing or repeated words, punctuation issues, date styles, number usage, and inconsistent figures.
  • Style and logic: detects colloquial expressions, nonstandard political phrasing, inconsistent organization names, and mismatched attachments.
  • Semantics: raises hints for ambiguous, vague, or logically fragile phrasing without treating them as hard errors.

Findings are graded as 🔴 severe / 🟡 general / 🟢 advisory / 🔵 minor, producing a structured report that can be re-checked after edits.

Boundaries

It is intended for pre-publication review of existing drafts, not drafting or layout work. Citation sourcing depends on public web sources, so internal speeches or unpublished materials may remain unverified. Semantic hints vary by regional and industry convention, and final judgment should rest with editors who understand the context.

Use Cases

  • Before issuing a meeting notice, check header, title, and signature against GB/T 9704 format rules.
  • Before submitting a request, verify quoted speeches and legal clauses, then collect accessible source URLs for manual comparison.
  • Before publishing a work plan, flag conflicting figures, mismatched attachments, and inconsistent date or number formats.
  • Before finalizing experience materials, detect colloquial wording, nonstandard political phrasing, and ambiguous phrasing.

Best For

  • Government office secretaries: need a severity-ranked list of format and wording issues before releasing drafts.
  • Materials coordinators: need citation, data, and attachment consistency checks before submitting requests.
  • Legal and language editors: need reviews of political phrasing, official wording, numbers, dates, and logic before finalization.
  • Project leads: need ambiguity detection and priority fixes before publishing work plans.
