About this skill
Problem
Index discussions often blur together: individual stocks, sectors, macro policy, and short-term price action get mixed into the same answer. When a user asks, “How should I think about AI indices?” a generic response may lack a stable analytical frame. stock-index-expert keeps the discussion at the index level and applies several investor frameworks to the same theme instead of recommending individual stocks or predicting price moves.
How It Works
- Three-level routing: first match feature signals such as dividends, innovative drugs, semiconductors, or cyclical assets; then fall back to semantic judgment; finally activate one or two frameworks based on the user’s specified comparison or analyst choice.
- Depth control: the default
L1mode stays concise, usually under 400 characters, and delivers one analyst perspective, a risk note, and index recommendations.L2adds a second perspective, whileL3provides a broader multi-framework view when explicitly requested. - Output constraints: it recommends indices rather than portfolios or individual stocks, avoids fabricating quotes, and labels factual claims according to source confidence.
- Profile memory: it persists risk preference, time horizon, and familiarity level across sessions, adjusting wording and terminology without changing the core conclusion.
Boundaries
It is useful for index theme synthesis, methodology comparison, news linkage, and switching expression styles. It is not suitable for real-time quotes, price prediction, specific fund recommendations, or making investment decisions for the user. When data cannot be verified, it should disclose knowledge cutoffs or point to official index sources.
Use Cases
- Map AI or biotech news to trackable theme indices while drafting a weekly research note.
- Compare dividend, growth, and macro perspectives on CSI 300 during a portfolio review.
- Explain why the answer points to index exposure instead of single-stock picks, with risk notes.
- Translate rate-cut or tariff policy signals into relevant index themes for an investment memo.
Best For
- Research analysts covering theme indices who need to map news, policy, and sector logic to trackable indices.
- Individual investors learning index allocation who need to compare different master frameworks on the same index.
- Finance writers who need multi-perspective index analysis with explicit source-verification labels.
- Investment consultants handling client questions who need to keep discussions at the index level and add risk disclaimers.
