About this skill

Problem Solved

When preparing vocabulary tests, teachers often need to turn scattered words, phrases, or OCR-extracted lists into printable Word documents. Manual formatting easily misses parts of speech, bracket width, fonts, and margins; phrase-dictation worksheets also need to show only Chinese prompts without revealing English answers.

How It Works

The skill generates standardized .docx vocabulary tests from structured input:
- Word mode (word): for word lists marked with parts of speech such as n., v., or adj., producing lines like apple n. ( ).
- Phrase mode (vocab): for Chinese phrases or word groups, producing only Chinese text and brackets, such as How is the weather? ( ), for students to write the English phrase from the Chinese prompt.

The workflow typically accepts text or image input, extracts or OCRs content when needed, detects part-of-speech markers, normalizes the list into a temporary text file, and renders a single-column A4 document with SimSun, 1.5 line spacing, and consistent brackets. English input is mainly used for internal parsing and may not appear in the final worksheet.

Boundaries

It is suited to word tests and phrase-dictation sheets, not to difficulty grading, extended question types, or automatic grading. If input comes from images, output quality depends on OCR accuracy; if part-of-speech markers and Chinese definitions are mixed, confirm the intended mode to avoid misclassifying phrase lists as word lists.

Use Cases

  • An English teacher formats a unit word list into a printable A4 vocabulary test with parts of speech and answer brackets.
  • A teacher prepares phrase-dictation practice where students see only Chinese prompts without English answers.
  • A teaching assistant extracts vocabulary text from textbook images and generates an editable `.docx` worksheet.

Best For

  • Middle school English teachers who regularly prepare vocabulary tests.
  • English teaching assistants or curriculum staff organizing classroom practice materials.
  • Course consultants at English learning institutions assigning phrase-dictation tasks.
