About this skill
Problem
Preparing bills of quantities for building and decoration works often depends on getting item codes, units of measure, item characteristics, and quantity calculation rules exactly right. The rules are spread across multiple appendices in GB/T 50854-2024, so manually searching the standard is slow and can easily miss deduction rules or the distinction between measure items and line items.
How the skill works
The skill structures the standard into Markdown resources covering General rules and terminology, earthwork, foundation treatment and piling, masonry and concrete, metal and wood structures, doors and windows, roof waterproofing and insulation, floor finishing, wall/column/ceiling decoration, painting and other decoration, and measure items. It also includes an item code quick reference to locate 466 items.
It supports three common workflows:
- Quick lookup: provide 010101001 or keywords such as "excavation" or "concrete", then receive the item code, characteristics, unit, calculation rule, and work content.
- Detailed measurement: provide a trade such as "earthwork" or "door and window works", then get the relevant appendix items, code ranges, and common rules.
- BOQ drafting: provide a project description, for example "C30 independent foundations in a concrete frame building", then get suggested BOQ items, codes, units, calculation rules, and required characteristics.
It also applies checks for code validity, unit consistency, calculation rule completeness, item characteristic completeness, cross-standard references, and measure item separation, reducing the risk of mixing installation, municipal, or landscaping rules into building and decoration BOQs.
Scope and caveats
The skill covers building and decoration works only, not bridges, tunnels, hydraulic projects, or other non-building works, and does not replace local quota rules. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, antique, municipal, and landscaping works should use their own standards. The resources are extracted from scanned PDFs and cross-validated, but critical rules should still be checked against the original standard.
Use Cases
- When drafting a BOQ for office building independent foundations, determine item codes, units, and concrete deduction rules.
- During settlement review, check excavation, formwork, and rebar calculation rules against the standard.
- Before bidding, generate the door and window appendix item list and verify code ranges and units.
- When verifying a 12-digit item code, locate its appendix and confirm item characteristics and work content.
Best For
- Cost estimators who need accurate item codes, units, and measurement rules for building and decoration BOQs.
- Tender consultants who need to check whether measure items are separated from line items.
- Settlement reviewers who need to verify excavation, concrete, formwork, and rebar calculation rules.
- Contractor quantity surveyors who need appendix item ranges and cautions before preparing bid prices.
