About this skill

Problem

Progress, owners, blockers, resource needs, risk levels, and last-update dates for multiple parallel projects often live in meeting notes, customer chats, verbal syncs, and manual spreadsheets. Managers repeatedly check who is doing what, which projects are stalled, and who owns the next action, while customer feedback can change scope or risk without being captured.

How it works

This skill maintains a project-management workspace and uses openpyxl to update Project Management Master Table.xlsx, with per-project archives for meeting notes and customer communications. It can initialize the workspace and templates, create a new project and append a table row, extract progress, milestones, blockers, decisions, and action items from meeting notes, extract customer requests, commitments, action items, and impact from customer communications, update stage, progress, resources, status, risk, and last-updated fields, and produce a project overview or weekly digest by status, risk, and blockers. Boundaries: it relies on user-supplied notes or chat content, does not pull from external systems, and the table schema is fixed, so approval workflows, permissions, and real-time collaboration still need existing tools.

Use Cases

  • Track parallel projects by recording progress, blockers, risk, and owners in one master table and producing a status list for managers.
  • After receiving a meeting note, extract progress, milestones, decisions, and action items, then update the relevant project row in the workbook.
  • When a customer chat contains requests or commitments, accurately update scope, resources, risk level, and last-updated fields for the project.
  • At project kickoff, create the project row, assign owner and stage, and prepare meeting-note and customer-communication archive folders in the workspace.

Best For

  • Project managers running multiple parallel projects: need a single master table to track owners, progress, blockers, and risk.
  • Product managers preparing project standups: need to extract action items and milestone changes from meeting notes and sync the project table.
  • Delivery leads handling client communications: need to archive requests and commitments while updating risk, resources, and impact fields.
  • Project operations staff producing weekly reports: need a status summary with high-risk projects, current blockers, and last updates.
