About this skill

Problem

Many business discussions stop at “the idea sounds good” or “we don’t know if it pays”: customer segments, value propositions, revenue streams, channels, and costs are discussed without a testable structure. Business Model Design Assistant turns loose descriptions into a checkable model.

How It Works

The skill uses Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition Canvas ideas, then routes requests into four modes:

  • Analyze: extract customers, value, revenue, cost, and other modules from an existing business description, then check internal consistency.
  • Design: guide a step-by-step fill-in process module by module, with backtracking and optional placeholders for missing items.
  • Evaluate: inspect completeness, consistency, feasibility, profitability, differentiation, and risk with checklist-style diagnostics.
  • Iterate: compare alternatives through assumption testing, scenario simulation, competitive benchmarking, and variant generation.

Boundaries

It is a structuring and reasoning aid, not a substitute for financial modeling, legal review, or market research. When key data is missing, the output is closer to a hypothesis map; use scores, gaps, and validation items as next actions rather than final decisions.

Use Cases

  • Break down a business description into customers, value, revenue, and costs, then check consistency.
  • Design a subscription SaaS model step by step, with backtracking and placeholders for missing modules.
  • Diagnose an existing business for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and profitability gaps.
  • Test pricing or customer-segment assumptions and generate asset-light or transaction-based variants.

Best For

  • Product leads preparing a launch review need a challengeable business-model canvas from raw requirements.
  • Founders preparing a pitch deck need to check value proposition, revenue, and cost consistency.
  • Ops leads adjusting pricing or expanding segments need alternatives and impact comparisons.
  • Consultants diagnosing client businesses need quick completeness, consistency, and risk checklists.
