About this skill

Problem

When evaluating overseas B2B customers, export teams often need to piece together data from websites, news, hiring pages, review platforms, and industry sources. A company name or website alone is not enough to judge scale, product mix, competitive pressure, financial risk, or buying pain points. This skill turns that ad hoc research into a repeatable diligence workflow.

How It Works

Given a target company or website, the skill collects information through WebSearch + WebFetch, covering company profile, products and supply chain, market and competitors, financial and compliance risk, reputation, and ESG signals. It then organizes the findings into a 7-step framework: company basics, products and supply chain, market and competition, financial risk, pain points, sales strategy, and supplier matching.

Core output is a formatted Word report, bilingual by default, with tables, pain-point ratings, an English summary, and a source table. Report generation can use scripts/generate_report.py, or fall back to references/report_template.py when needed. If assets/user_profile.json is configured, it adds a product matching matrix, a five-dimension evaluation, and prioritization.

Boundaries

This skill is useful for pre-sales customer research and strategy preparation, not legal advice or audit conclusions. Inferred claims need evidence, revenue and market-share figures should be cross-checked, and tariff or compliance data must respect validity dates. User company information should be supplied via configuration rather than stored in report templates.

Use Cases

  • Sales reps use a customer company name to summarize scale, product line, and competitive context before first outreach.
  • Managers preparing an overseas visit need pain-point ratings, a risk matrix, and recommended talking points in one document.
  • Operations leads compare their company's products with target customer categories to identify the highest-priority entry point.
  • Marketing staff collect tariff, compliance, and review data with sources and validity notes before preparing a quote.

Best For

  • Foreign trade sales reps who need a fast pre-sales read on customer strength, buying pain points, and entry strategy.
  • B2B sales managers who need risk, competitive landscape, and product talking points before a customer visit.
  • Customer operations leads who need to match company products against customer categories and rank entry priorities.
  • Marketing or compliance assistants who need to compile reputation, tariff, and regulation notes with sources and validity.
