About this skill

The Problem

Long-running fiction often breaks down after a few chapters: character voices drift, power systems become inconsistent, foreshadowing is abandoned, timelines conflict, and local drafts are overwritten. Novel Creation Assistant PROSL treats the novel as a maintainable project rather than a one-off generation task.

How It Works

It centers on a local novel memory file and project folder:
- Project setup: confirm title, genre, platform style, target audience, and length, then draft a memory file.
- Chapter continuation: before writing, review the previous ending, chapter goal, unresolved P1/P2 foreshadowing, character dialogue style, and hard worldbuilding rules, then add a brief post-generation check.
- Setting maintenance: track character cards, hard and soft world rules, foreshadowing priority, and timeline, flagging conflicts with evidence instead of silently rewriting canon.
- File safety: confirm target directories, ask before overwriting existing files, and avoid hidden or skill-package directories for drafts and backups.

Boundaries

It fits serialized novels, long-form projects, multi-work management, and collaborative writing. It is not intended for one-off short texts, marketing copy, legal or copyright review, or workflows that refuse local project files.

Use Cases

  • Before writing chapter 12, load the previous ending, unresolved P1 foreshadowing, and character dialogue style, then generate with a conflict check.
  • Review a new chapter for power-system violations, timeline conflicts, and unsupported character shifts, then provide fixes.
  • Compress a memory file over 12,000 characters while retaining the main plot, core characters, hard rules, and unresolved foreshadowing.
  • Manage two novels in parallel with separate memory files, chapter directories, and backups to prevent setting cross-contamination.

Best For

  • Serialized web-novel writers who need AI to read the memory file before continuation, preventing character voice and worldbuilding drift.
  • Long-form novel creators who need continuous tracking of P1/P2 foreshadowing, timeline conflicts, and broken causality.
  • Multi-project writers who require independent directories, memory files, and backups for each novel to avoid setting cross-contamination.
  • Collaborative writing teams who need consistent character cards, hard world rules, and merge conventions without overwriting others' settings.
