About this skill
Problem
When screenshots, scans, or phone photos are scattered in one directory, manually opening, renaming, resizing, and exporting them into a PDF is error-prone. This skill targets a more repeatable batch workflow: combine images in a folder into a single, consistently ordered, page-stable PDF.
How It Works
- Input scanning: recognizes common formats such as
jpg/png/jpeg/webp/bmp/tiff. - Sequencing: prefers numeric identifiers in filenames, so
image_1_346.jpgcomes beforeimage_2_346.jpg. - Orientation fix: reads
EXIFmetadata to correct rotated or upside-down captures. - A4 fitting: scales proportionally onto A4 pages, defaulting to
150 DPIwhile allowing resolution changes. - Fault tolerance: skips failed images and keeps the batch running, producing one final PDF.
Scope
Best for tens or hundreds of moderately sized images. For 300+ high-resolution files, memory usage can become significant, so lower DPI or batch splitting is safer. It does not replace tools for page encryption, signing, text editing, or advanced layout control.
Use Cases
- Combine scanned contract photos from a directory into one archival PDF ordered by filename numbers
- Merge a directory of jpg/png screenshots by numeric order into an A4 PDF for review
- Process 200 landscape product photos, correct orientation, and export them as one PDF
- Export webp/bmp/tiff assets into a unified PDF for easier email attachment sharing
Best For
- QA engineers who need to merge phone screenshots into an ordered PDF
- administrative staff who archive scanned contracts into a single document
- visual design assistants who organize large batches of landscape photos into A4 PDFs
- documentation maintainers who combine numbered webpage screenshots into an attachment
