In a multi-session DeepSeek Harness deployment, agents run in isolated sessions with no native channel to speak to one another. agents-in-the-loop closes that gap by adding exactly two model tools, session_message and contacts, so any two sessions on the same dsh instance can exchange messages reliably without a message queue or middleware.

Delivery is battle-tested: targets are resolved by registered name at call time, so a re-raised agent under the same alias is always reachable and stale session ids never cause missed messages. For idle targets the full text is rendered into the conversation and pushed into the runtime context; for busy targets it is injected as a plugin-source notice that is mid-turn safe and starts no new turn. The contacts directory supports list, get, add, call, and update in a single call, resolving alias, status, and label together. Self-registration requires only the name, so the agent never needs to look up its own session id. There is no web UI, no database, and no background polling; the plugin is fully inert until an agent invokes a tool.

Built for teams orchestrating multi-agent collaboration in DS, from review pipelines to cross-domain follow-ups and parallel consultation flows. It requires DSH 0.1.2 or later and Node 20 or later, activates with a single cordis patch line, and carries zero external dependencies beyond the dsh runtime itself.
