About this plugin

The hardest part of long-form roleplay is not running out of words, but reaching chapter ten and finding that the AI has forgotten the foreshadowing planted in chapter three; it is not that characters break out of role, but that every NPC speaks with the same voice, shares the same motivation, like one body wearing many masks. dsh-NextTavern splits the native Agent Loop into three parallel lines: the main agent drives the narrative, character agents independently simulate speech and intent, and a background memory agent maintains four pillars of long-term context (frozen settings always injected, hard-cut windows preserving recent full text, traceable director notes, and on-demand hybrid retrieval), so every NPC truly participates with their own agency and stance.

On top of this skeleton, the plugin absorbs the tedious parts of the creative pipeline: SillyTavern and TauriTavern PNG and JSON character cards can be dropped in and read instantly; a long novel in TXT format can be turned into a playable character card with original-text citations through either close-reading or coarse-granularity pipelines; an independent preset page offers 16 built-in writing styles plus 200 custom slots scoped per conversation or globally; a finished timeline can be exported as a novel draft with one click, or you can regenerate, edit, and branch to explore alternate storylines within the same conversation. Multi-model routing lets body text, memory, card reading, and export each use the model best suited to them, while local embedding models handle semantic search with no network required.

It is built for people already using SillyTavern or TauriTavern who find that single-turn Q&A cannot sustain a story beyond twenty scenes, and for those holding a long novel they want to reshape into a playable world. On Windows or Linux, a single self-contained installer or one install command gets you started, and model selection and API keys remain entirely under your control.

Use Cases

  • Import SillyTavern character cards and launch a long-form story with independent multi-agent simulation
  • Convert a long TXT novel into a playable character card, then re-render it with a custom style preset
  • Branch and switch timelines within a single conversation, iterate on plot directions, and export a novel draft in one click

Best For

  • Creators using SillyTavern or TauriTavern who need narratives well beyond 20 turns
  • Writers holding a long novel they want to reshape into an interactive world
  • Worldbuilders who want multiple NPCs to simulate independently and be woven into cohesive scenes
