Introduction¶
When using DeepSeek Harness for Agent development, an Agent can easily miss state changes during the gaps between turns when it is executing tasks or waiting for user input. The DSH plugin mechanism allows developers to extend client behavior. The wenowen/dsh-your-turn plugin notifies developers through pop-ups and sounds during turn hand-offs and retains a list of unread reminders.
What Is It¶
This plugin is maintained by WenOwen and is a client-side plugin. It mainly addresses state synchronization issues when an Agent stops running or waits for user responses, using both visual and auditory reminders to ensure developers do not miss important turns.
Core Features¶
- Turn End Reminder: When an Agent completes a task, encounters an error, or is interrupted, notify via a pop-up or toast. The pop-up can display information such as the session title and working directory.
- Directly Return to Session: Click “Skip to Session” in the reminder pop-up to return quickly.
- Chime on Questions: When the Agent asks a new question and waits for an answer, play a sound only, without showing a pop-up that blocks the content.
- Sidebar Speaker: Show an unread reminder count in the sidebar, hover to view the list, and click to navigate.
- Six Synthetic Sounds: Supports six sounds synthesized in real time by the browser: chime, ping, marimba, arcade, drop, and alert.
- Multi-Tab Coordination on the Same Origin: Coordinate reminders across multiple tabs; closing one synchronously closes the others, avoiding duplicate reminders.
Installation and Enablement¶
Run this in an environment where DeepSeek Harness is configured, replacing web with the profile name you actually use (for example, desktop):
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add github:WenOwen/dsh-your-turn
After installation, restart Harness and refresh the Web client.
- Open Settings → Your Turn and choose the reminder style, sound, and volume.
- Click Preview to unlock sound playback permissions for the current page.
- Run an Agent turn. After it ends, you can see the hand-off reminder.
Settings¶
Changes to options and toggles are applied automatically.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Reminder style | Centered pop-up | modal is a pop-up; toast is a top banner. |
| Auto dismiss | 5 seconds | Choose a preset duration or a custom 0–600 seconds; 0 means manual dismissal. |
| Play sound | Enabled | Controls sounds for turn hand-offs and questions. |
| Success sound | Chime | Sound used for normal turn hand-offs. |
| Error sound | Alert | Sound used for errors, interruptions, or truncation. |
| Volume | 70 | Adjustable from 0–100. |
Sound list: Chime (chime), Ping (ping), Marimba (marimba), Arcade (arcade), Drop (drop), Alert (alert).
Storage location: Local pages save settings to the DSH deployment; remote pages save only to the current browser. The page displays the current storage location; read-only deployments or deployments that cannot provide plugin settings may not allow editing.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Environment Requirements: Requires a profile with a Web client, such as
webordesktop. - Running State: The client must remain open and connected to the Host; closing the page prevents continued observation of turn status.
- Sound Playback: Sound is affected by browser playback permissions and system volume. If there is no sound, check whether “Play sound” is enabled in settings and confirm the volume is not 0.
- Compatible Version: The current project targets DeepSeek Harness
0.2.0-rc.2.
Summary¶
This plugin uses pop-ups and sound alerts to solve state synchronization issues during Agent turn hand-offs. It is suitable for developers who need to run Agents for long periods and switch between multiple tasks.
