In DeepSeek Harness (DSH), managing skills and MCP servers typically involves direct file operations or relying on provider logic. Without a centralized management interface, quickly checking the current state, disabling a specific skill, or configuring a server can become cumbersome.
dsh-skill-mcp-panel is a skill list and MCP server manager for DSH, mounted as a sidebar panel and fully deriving its theme from the host’s theme tokens. It is maintained by re-ITRT. It provides a centralized view for managing skills and MCP servers while remaining consistent with the host’s theme and font settings.
Core Features¶
- Sidebar Panel: Opens a page from a sidebar entry, showing a dense list of all Agent skills and configured MCP servers provided by the current deployment.
- Skill Toggle: Each skill row includes a toggle switch to enable or disable the skill.
- Details Panel: Click “Details” to expand a panel displaying the provider, source, path, invocation policy, and full body.
- MCP Server Management: Supports editing, creating, and deleting MCP servers.
- Open Directory: Opens the directory containing the skill or MCP configuration folder.
- Theme and Typography: The page contains no theme code; all colors, border radius, fonts, and focus rings come from the host’s
--dsh-*tokens. Typography is dynamically adjusted based on the host’s font size setting (--dsh-content-font-size).
Installation and Enablement¶
Install the plugin using the following command:
dsh plugin --profile desktop add <path-to-this-directory>
Usage Instructions¶
- View List: Find and open the “Skills and MCP” entry in the DSH sidebar to view all Agent skills and MCP servers.
- Disable Skill: Click the switch on a skill row to turn it off. The plugin removes the skill from the model catalog and the
/menu via registry duplicate rules (rank: 0), without directly editing files. - Delete Skill:
- User Skill: Permanently deletes the file.
- Bundled Skill: Moves it to the trash folder and does not delete it permanently.
Deletion operations include a confirmation prompt indicating whether it is a “Permanent Delete” or “Move to Trash Folder.”
- Configure MCP Server: Click “Edit” on an MCP row or “New Server” to open a fixed two-column grid form for configuration. The form includes fields such as command, working directory, URL, arguments, and environment variables.
Notes¶
- Theme Consistency: The page contains no theme code, and all styles fully depend on the host’s
--dsh-*tokens, so it automatically follows the deployed theme (light, dark, or third-party themes). - No Polling or Refresh: The list does not auto-poll, and there is no manual refresh button. The list is read when the panel is opened, when the window regains focus (throttled to once every 4 seconds), and after each write operation.
- Skill Disabling Mechanism: Turning off a skill is not implemented by editing files, but is managed by the plugin through registry rules.
- File Storage Locations:
- The skill collection is located at
<DSH home>/storages/skill-mcp-panel.json. - Deleted bundled skills are located at
<DSH home>/storages/skill-mcp-panel.trash/<id>/.
- The skill collection is located at
