DeepSeek Harness (DSH) currently only provides an “Archive” feature by default: session logs are append-only, dsh-session-persistence has no deletion method, and the dsh-workspace registry has no removeSession. The nakie-zjm/dsh-session-delete plugin combines existing public services to implement a true deletion operation and adds an entry to the … menu on session rows in the sidebar.

Basic Information

  • Name: nakie-zjm/dsh-session-delete
  • Author: Nakie-zjm
  • License: MIT
  • Core value: Adds a permanent delete item to the desktop sidebar session menu, deletes session logs and projection caches, removes workspace bookkeeping, and leaves no partially deleted directory tree on failure.

Installation and Activation

Installation must use verified commands. After installation, the desktop version must be fully quit and restarted.

1. Command-line Installation

Use the dsh plugin command to add the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile desktop add @nakie-zjm/dsh-session-delete@0.1.1

2. Plugin Page Installation

  1. Open the DSH Plugins page;
  2. Enter the package name and version in “Add Plugin”:
@nakie-zjm/dsh-session-delete@0.1.1

The installer automatically adds the package to the profile dependencies and configures the bundle; no manual configuration file changes are required.

Features

  • Sidebar menu entry: Adds a “Permanent Delete” item (red, order 500) to the … menu displayed when hovering over a session row.
  • Complete cleanup: Deletes the session log directory, projection cache documents, and removes the session from workspace bookkeeping.
  • Handling running sessions: A running session is stopped before deletion. If it cannot be stopped (for example, the current active conversation), deletion is refused and the original state is preserved.
  • Failure safety: Deletion uses a two-step isolation mechanism (rename to a quarantine directory and then delete), ensuring that a mid-operation failure does not leave a partially deleted tree or break the directory structure that DSH expects at startup.
  • No dependencies: The plugin has no runtime dependencies.

Notes

  • Version compatibility: Developed and verified only for DSH 0.2.0-rc.2.
  • Conflict detection: It cannot be installed at the same time as the same-named plugin dsh-session-delete (vtxf version), otherwise duplicate menu items will appear.
  • Irreversible: Deletion cannot be recovered. There is no recycle bin or backup. If you need to preserve the content, first export it using the official /export command.
  • Uninstall impact: Uninstalling the plugin does not delete existing sessions.
  • File cleanup: Deleting a session does not touch attachments in global storage (such as images or files). These files may be shared by other sessions, so they will not be accidentally deleted along with the session.

Summary

This plugin solves the limitation that DSH cannot thoroughly clean up session data by default, providing safe and irreversible deletion capabilities. It is suitable for users who need to strictly control local data storage space.
