Introduction

The plugin ecosystem of DSH (DeepSeek Harness) supports extending host functionality through plugins. In addition to practical plugins for bookkeeping and status monitoring, the community also provides some add-ons designed to enhance the interactive experience.

dsh-whale-food-expack is an interactive add-on pack for the DSH Little Whale Bookkeeping Widget (dsh-whale-widget). It does not modify the base plugin; instead, it uses an overlay approach to add behaviors such as “feeding white rice,” “typing on a keyboard while working,” and “real-time tool display.” This plugin is maintained by Mynaniao and is released under the MIT License.

Core Features

The plugin mainly implements the following capabilities:

  1. Feeding White Rice

    • Drag-and-drop interaction: drag white rice onto the whale to feed it.
    • Automatic refilling: after a full bowl is eaten, an empty bowl remains. Left-clicking the empty bowl automatically fills it and starts the next feeding round.
    • Satiation feedback: feeding increases satiation, and the value is displayed in a small bubble in the top-right corner.
  2. Satiation System

    • Natural decay: when idle, satiation decreases by 1% per minute.
    • Work consumption: when the Agent is working, satiation decreases based on token consumption (configured as 3000 tokens = -1%).
    • Hunger feedback: when satiation is ≤ 50%, the little whale complains about being hungry every 30 seconds. The hungrier it is, the more dramatically it complains.
  3. Keyboard Typing and Tool Display

    • Visual feedback: when the Agent is working, the whale extends its hands and types on a keyboard.
    • Tool error indication: each tool invocation triggers a toast notification on the interface (for example, 🛠 read). If a tool invocation fails, the whale turns red and shakes.
    • Real-time status: the interface displays the currently used tool in real time.

Installation and Activation

Before installing this plugin, make sure the host environment has installed and enabled the base plugin “DSH Little Whale Bookkeeping Widget” (package name dsh-whale-widget) with version ≥ 0.3.0.

This plugin is an add-on layer. Without the base plugin, it will not display any content.

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-whale-food-expack

After the command finishes executing, you must restart the dsh web process for the plugin to take effect.

Usage Guide

After installation and restart, use it as follows:

  1. Feeding Operation

    • Drag white rice 🍚 onto the whale to feed it.
    • After the full bowl is consumed, an empty bowl 🥣 remains. At this time, the empty bowl cannot be dragged.
    • Left-click the empty bowl, and the system will automatically fill it with rice, starting a new feeding round.
  2. Status Viewing

    • The satiation value is displayed in real time in the small bubble in the top-right corner.
    • Dark blue indicates a normal state, orange indicates hunger, and red indicates being almost starving.
  3. Position Calibration

    • If the overlay position is misaligned (for example, the mouth appears on the forehead, or the hands float in midair), press Ctrl+Alt+M to enter adjustment mode.
    • Red dashed selection boxes will appear. Drag the mouth, keyboard, left hand, or right hand to adjust their positions.
    • Press Ctrl+Alt+M or Esc again to exit the mode. The positions will be saved automatically.

Data and Privacy

The data storage and runtime logic of this plugin are entirely local to the browser:

  • Storage location: all data is stored in the browser’s localStorage, including satiation values, feeding counts, and position calibration data.
  • Privacy and security: the plugin does not send data to any server and does not read conversation content. It only subscribes to Agent status events (such as work start, work end, tool name, and success/failure).

Notes

  • Dependency on the base plugin: you must first install and enable dsh-whale-widget ≥ 0.3.0; otherwise, this plugin will not display anything.
  • Restart required: after installing or uninstalling, you must restart dsh web to load or remove the plugin.
  • Layer conflicts: this plugin may conflict with certain skin plugins or fullscreen plugins due to z-index issues. If settings cannot be opened or the display is incomplete, you can use Ctrl+Alt+M adjustment mode to recalibrate, or check the compatibility configuration of the skin plugin.
