Introduction

When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH) for multi-session development, after a session finishes its task, it is easy to miss its completion status if you switch workspaces or tabs. The dsh-activity-bell plugin adds a bell icon to the sidebar to aggregate unread session completions and provides one-click switching to the “Recent Activity” list.

Plugin Overview

This is a client-side plugin maintained by minivv. It tracks session completion status, indicates unread counts via a badge on the sidebar bell icon, and provides an entry point to a time-grouped activity list.

Core Features

  1. Badge Count
When a session changes from “Running” to “Finished” and you have not opened it yet, a red number appears in the upper-right corner of the bell icon, representing the unread count.

  2. Recent Activity List
Clicking the bell swaps the sidebar list to “Recent Activity”. The list is grouped by day (Today, Yesterday, day of week, etc.), with the most recent items at the top. Each row displays the session title and its folder. Unread sessions have a green dot at the beginning of the row.

  3. Current Session Highlight
In the activity list, the currently open session is shown with a gray background for easier location.

  4. Interactions
Clicking a list row opens the session directly. After opening, the green dot and badge number are automatically reduced. Click the bell again (or press the Esc key) to return to the original workspace/session list.

  5. Mouse Hover
When hovering the mouse over a row, “Pin / Archive” buttons consistent with the official list are displayed.

Installation and Enabling

Install using the plugin manager:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-activity-bell

After installation, restart the web profile or refresh the page.

Typical Usage

  1. Work as usual: Send a task in a session, then switch to another session.
  2. Check the notification: When a session finishes and has not been viewed, a red number appears on the sidebar bell.
  3. View details: Click the bell to view the “Recent Activity” list (green dots indicate unread sessions), then click the corresponding row to open the session.
  4. Return to list: Click the bell again (or press Esc) to return to the original workspace/session list.

Use Cases and Notes

This plugin is suitable for developers who need to manage multiple sessions concurrently and keep track of session completion status. The activity list provides pinning and archiving features consistent with the official implementation.

Limitations:
* Collapsed sidebar mode: When the sidebar is collapsed into a 56px track, the plugin cannot display badge numbers due to the official interface occupying the space.
* Reset on refresh: Unread counts are not preserved across page refreshes; counting starts over after refreshing the page.
* Operation limitations: The activity list only supports opening sessions, pinning, and archiving; renaming and forking must still be performed in the original workspace list.

Summary

dsh-activity-bell addresses the problem of missing status updates when working with multiple concurrent sessions. With badge notifications and quick list switching, it can improve management efficiency. For more details and source code, visit: GitHub.
