Introduction

The default sidebar in DeepSeek Harness (DSH) only provides basic account information display. The dsh-ui-personalization plugin takes over DSH’s UI slots, allowing users to replace the system account row at the bottom of the sidebar, customize the avatar, nickname, and account balance, and optionally hide the branding mark at the top of the sidebar.

Feature Overview

  • Custom identity row: Replaces the system account row at the bottom of the sidebar to display a custom avatar, nickname, and account balance.
  • Hide branding mark: Hides the brand Logo and name at the top of the sidebar.
  • Settings entry: Adds a “Personalization” page to the settings panel for centralized management of personalization settings.

Installation

Use the following command to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile <your profile> add github:Mgeeeeee/dsh-ui-personalization

After installation, refresh the page; if it does not take effect, restart the Profile.

Usage

  1. Open the settings panel and find the Personalization page in the left navigation bar.
  2. Identity row: Use the toggle to enable the custom identity. Click the avatar to select an image (edit/delete icons appear on hover or keyboard focus), and enter a nickname.
  3. Interface elements: Use the toggle to hide the branding mark at the top.

Notes

  • Sign out disabled: The plugin takes over the settings.launcher slot, making the original “Sign out” function on the account row unavailable. If you need to sign out, turn off the “Custom identity” toggle.
  • Version compatibility: The client version number is hardcoded. If the balance is not displayed after upgrading dsh, manually update CLIENT_VERSION.
  • Visual whitespace: The branding row height is hardcoded by the Shell (60px); hiding it may leave a blank area.
  • Touchscreen limitation: Edit/delete icons only appear on hover or keyboard focus and cannot be triggered by hovering on touchscreen devices.
  • Data storage: Configuration data is stored in localStorage['dsh.personalization.v1'].
