Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses an “everything is a plugin” architecture. Interactions and workflow orchestration in the Web UI usually need to be extended through plugins. For developers who need to manage multiple Agent scenarios, handle complex parameter configurations, and monitor execution status, the native interface often lacks systematic workbench capabilities. The lycheelink/dsh-workbench plugin provides the DSH Web UI with an integrated entry point based on scenario cards and dynamic forms, aiming to solve problems such as scattered scenario entry points, cumbersome parameter collection, and fragmented session management.
What It Is¶
@lycheelink/dsh-workbench is a DSH Web UI plugin maintained by lycheelink, positioned as an enterprise-grade Agent workbench. It does not replace or disable any official plugins, but exists as an incremental component.
This plugin provides entry points through a scenario card grid, collects parameters using dynamic forms, and uses the host’s sessionController to create real Agent sessions. It solves pain points such as quickly starting customized tasks in the Web interface, managing parameter validation, and monitoring session status.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides a complete set of front-end and back-end interaction capabilities:
- Scenario Card Grid: Provides responsive scenario entry points, supporting category-based filtering and global search.
- Dynamic Forms and Conditional Fields: The parameter collection panel supports expanding and collapsing fields. It dynamically shows or hides subforms using expressions (such as
key == 'value'), with the logic shared with the host from a single source. - Real Session Launch: After clicking “Launch”, the plugin creates a real Agent session through the host’s
sessionControllerand injects the assembled Prompt into the session. The Agent session appears in the conversation list and begins execution. - Server Path Validation: File fields only accept server-side absolute paths (such as
/mnt/share_space). The plugin validates whether the path exists when starting. - Control Room: Provides real-time session status monitoring (created/running/waiting for decision/completed/failed). It supports managing session records; failed or completed sessions can be deleted directly. Running sessions require a two-step confirmation to delete (deletes only the workbench record and does not operate on the real session).
- Sidebar and Full-Page View: Adds a “Workbench” menu item to the left sidebar. Clicking it opens the workbench as a borderless full-page view covering the central conversation column. After successfully clicking “Launch”, the full-page view automatically closes and navigates to the conversation view of the new session.
Installation and Activation¶
This plugin only supports the Web profile. Before installation, ensure DSH and its dependencies are installed.
dsh plugin --profile web add @lycheelink/dsh-workbench
After successful installation, a “Workbench” entry appears in the left sidebar. Because the plugin relies on the host’s typert mechanism to register endpoints, ensure the host has correctly loaded the relevant Artifact.
Typical Usage¶
Using this workbench to execute tasks usually includes the following steps:
- Select a Scenario: Click the target scenario card in the scenario card grid (such as “Out-of-the-Box Optimization” or “Profiling Collection”).
- Fill in Parameters: Enter the required parameters in the sliding parameter collection panel. If conditional logic is enabled, filling in specific fields automatically expands subforms.
- Upload File: Enter a server-side absolute path in the file field. The system validates whether the file exists when starting.
- Launch Session: Click the “Launch” button.
- The system assembles the Prompt and performs validation.
- If successful, the workbench closes and the view switches to the newly created conversation window, with the Agent beginning to execute the task.
- If unsuccessful, the Control Room displays a status description.
Target Users and Notes¶
Target Audience: Engineers using the DSH Web UI for Agent development and operations, and teams that need to frequently launch specific scenarios, handle complex parameters, or monitor session status.
Important Notes:
- Dependencies: The plugin depends on the host’s
typertartifact (./typert). If this file is missing, the host will not expose anyworkbench/*endpoints, and the plugin will not work. - Profile Restrictions: The current version only supports the Web profile.
- Agent Launch Mode: By default, “Launch” creates a real Agent session. If you only need to record logs without creating a real session, you can configure
spawnAgent: false. - Current Boundaries: Currently, the plugin only mounts the
agentPresetconfigured in the card. Card-levelagentConfig.skillsare not yet passed through to the preset combination (the preset itself may include skills).
Conclusion¶
dsh-workbench adds structured workbench capabilities to the DSH Web UI in a plugin-based form. It provides a complete closed loop from scenario entry and parameter collection to session creation and monitoring. For more details and source code, visit:
