Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin architecture, and plugins communicate with each other via RPC. In practical use, it is often necessary to read the context of an existing session, copy a session ID, or send instructions to other sessions to coordinate work. dsh-session-telecom is intended to address these cross-session communication needs and provides a standardized set of interaction capabilities.

Plugin Positioning

dsh-session-telecom is a DeepSeek Harness session communication plugin maintained by ltmroberthk915. It was renamed from an original local session communication plugin and is separate from dsh-session-toolkit on npm. The plugin does not depend on or upgrade dsh-session-toolkit, nor does it introduce additional runtime dependencies.

Core Features

The plugin mainly provides the following capabilities:
* Session management: copy session IDs, list sessions, and check their status.
* Content reading: read existing session content in read-only mode, supporting summary, tail, or raw data modes.
* Message sending: send messages to online or saved sessions, supporting queueing or insertion.
* Data monitoring: view token usage, billed tokens, and cache hit rate.

Installation and Enablement

The plugin is installed as an npm package. For CLI or Web users, run the following command:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-session-telecom@1.1.0

After installation, the host must be restarted. Desktop and Web profiles are independent and must be installed separately.

Typical Usage

The plugin provides functionality through the model tool session_telecom and supports JSON-format action parameters.

  1. List sessions
    Get the session list, with an optional limit.
{"action":"list","limit":20}
  1. Read session content
    Read recent records from a specified session. The last parameter controls the number of entries to read, and mode controls the output format (summary for a summary, raw for raw JSONL).
{"action":"read","sessionId":"源会话完整 ID","last":5,"mode":"summary"}
  1. Send a message
    Send text to a target session. mode: queue places the message in the target’s next turn, while mode: steer inserts it into the next step.
{"action":"send","targetSessionId":"目标会话 ID","text":"请继续这项工作","mode":"queue"}
  1. Expect a reply
    When an explicit reply is required, set expectReply: true. The host will verify the sender’s identity and attach reply instructions.
{"action":"send","targetSessionId":"目标会话 ID","text":"还有哪些验收工作未完成?","expectReply":true}

Use Cases and Notes

  • Permission limits: The plugin only accesses DSH sessions visible to the current DSH host. It does not provide lookup, reading, or takeover of sessions on external platforms such as zcode.
  • Stop-search rule: If a query with query returns no match, or if read/delivery returns session/not-found, the tool description requires the model to stop searching and report to the user. It must not repeat the query, reword it to broaden the search, or scan the disk.
  • Cost and wake-up: Sending a message wakes the target session, which may incur model costs. It should only be used within the scope of user-approved communication.
  • Dependencies: There are no runtime dependencies, optionalDependencies, or bundled dependencies, and it will not install a second DSH kernel.

Conclusion

This plugin provides DSH users with convenient cross-session communication, making it suitable for scenarios that require cross-session collaboration or context reuse. For more details, see: GitHub.
