Preface

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) users who work across sessions or instances often face issues such as lost context and scattered knowledge that is difficult to retrieve. dsh-memj is a project-logic-based memory system plugin. It binds knowledge to the project’s main thread, uses handoff documents as the entry point, and enables knowledge aggregation and archiving. The plugin has no external dependencies; all configurations and prompts support front-end hot reloading, allowing users to customize the knowledge structure without modifying code or to let models self-evolve by iterating on prompts.

Core Positioning

  • Plugin Name: dsh-memj
  • Maintainer: jojoman2024
  • Category: Memory
  • License: MIT
  • Core Value: Aggregates and hands off knowledge according to how people actually work, supporting three-level aggregation: project → topic → global.

Feature Overview

This plugin manages knowledge through the following mechanisms:

  1. Project-Logic Aggregation: Knowledge follows the project’s main thread and supports multi-dimensional retrieval by topic/tag.
  2. Three-Level Ownership Structure: Supports aggregating knowledge across three levels: “project → topic → global.” Ownership is cumulative; after a knowledge entry is added to a topic or global scope, it still retains its project ownership.
  3. Handoff Main Path: In a new session, enter /memj-handoff to compress one round of work into the starting point for the next round, supporting standardized writing and archiving.
  4. Fully Open Editing: Supports front-end editing (hot reloading) of open writing specifications, knowledge types, and all plugin prompts. Users can optimize them independently or let models self-evolve by modifying prompts.
  5. Markdown Storage: Project documents and knowledge entries are stored as full-text Markdown in the database, supporting direct editing and diff comparison.

Installation and Enablement

Before installation, please ensure that the DSH version is not lower than 0.2.0-rc.2.

Command-line installation:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-memj

UI installation:
In the DSH UI, go to the “Plugins” page on the left, click “Add Plugin” in the upper-right corner, enter dsh-memj in the input field, and run the installation.

After installation, related entries will appear in the sidebar.

Typical Usage

  1. Post-installation Initialization: In the DSH UI, enter dsh-memj to install it; the installation source is selected based on network conditions.
  2. Start a Handoff: In a new session, enter /memj-handoff; the plugin will guide the model to consolidate the current round of results into project documents and knowledge entries.
  3. Retrieve Context: In a new session, quickly retrieve historical context and accumulated knowledge through project documents.

Notes

  • Version Requirement: DSH version >= 0.2.0-rc.2 is required.
  • Built-in Limitation: The IDs and display names of built-in knowledge types are locked and cannot be modified.
  • Retrieval Rules: Knowledge entries archived under History do not participate in retrieval and are stored only as raw text.
  • Upgrade Mechanism:
    • Promoting to a topic requires citing content from the topic description as evidence; the tool will validate this.
    • Promoting to global scope requires manual approval; the model cannot approve it by itself.
  • Configuration Activation: Modifying command descriptions requires a restart to take effect; other prompt modifications support hot reloading.

Conclusion

dsh-memj binds memory entities to projects, providing a complete workflow from knowledge accumulation and retrieval to archiving. For developers who need to maintain long-term project context or build a custom knowledge base, this plugin offers sufficient flexibility.
