Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) generates a large number of archived sessions during use. Over time, these historical records consume storage space, and the native DSH interface lacks a centralized management entry point. Manually locating and cleaning up these files is time-consuming and easy to overlook.

The jeffry-z/dsh-plugin-archived-sessions plugin provides a centralized management interface for archived sessions, addressing pain points in viewing, restoring, and completely cleaning up session lists.

Plugin Overview

This is an open-source plugin maintained by Jeffry-Z (MIT License), focused on lifecycle management of DSH archived sessions. It mounts a service and browser module, adding a dedicated entry point in DSH settings, allowing developers to directly view, restore, or permanently delete these sessions.

Installation and Enablement

Plugin version is v0.1.1, developed based on DSH 0.2.0-rc.2.

  1. Open DeepSeek Harness Desktop.
  2. Go to Plugins -> Add plugin.
  3. Copy the following link and paste it into the dialog:
   https://github.com/Jeffry-Z/dsh-plugin-archived-sessions#v0.1.1
  1. Click Install, then click Enable now.
  2. Fully quit DSH and reopen it.
  3. Go to Settings -> Archived sessions to use it.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following core capabilities:

  • View session list: Lists archived sessions, including title, workspace, creation time, and log size.
  • Restore session: Restores an archived conversation to the workspace. The restore operation preserves the conversation file.
  • Permanent deletion: Completely removes the conversation log. This operation does not create a backup and cannot be undone once executed.
  • Preference memory: Supports checking “Don’t ask again” when confirming deletion. The selection is saved in browser storage.
  • Multilingual support: The interface supports English and Simplified Chinese.

Usage Guide

  • Difference between restore and delete: Clicking Restore only moves the session file back to the workspace; clicking Delete releases the handle and permanently removes the file.
  • Sync changes: If archived sessions were modified elsewhere, click the Refresh button to load the latest changes.
  • Confirmation settings: In the deletion confirmation dialog, check “Don’t ask again” and confirm; the prompt will not appear in subsequent operations.

Notes

  • Irreversible deletion: Deletion is permanent. Once confirmed, the files cannot be recovered.
  • Legacy backup remnants: If an earlier plugin version left backups in the system, this plugin will display a “Legacy backups” section in the interface.
  • No effect on system packages: This plugin does not modify DSH installed packages.

Summary

This plugin provides DSH users with fine-grained management of archived sessions, suitable for developers who need to regularly clean up historical data or manage a large number of past conversations. For more source code and update details, visit the GitHub repository.
