DeepSeek Harness Web’s left-side settings navigation bar is usually determined at build time by plugins based on priority. The Shell does not provide dragging or reordering controls, nor does it offer user-level ways to modify the order. The dsh-settings-order plugin works around this limitation by sorting the rendered DOM and persisting the result to the host configuration.
Overview¶
dsh-settings-order is a free reordering plugin for the DeepSeek Harness Web settings navigation. It is maintained by jackovibe. It allows users to adjust the order by dragging, keyboard shortcuts, or footer buttons, and persists the result to the host configuration.
Core Features¶
-
Drag-and-drop reordering
Drag any navigation row to the target position. An insertion marker indicates the drop location. -
Keyboard shortcuts
After selecting a page, pressAlt+↑/Alt+↓to adjust the order. -
Footer controls
Use the↑/↓buttons in the footer to move the currently viewed page. This is touch-friendly, since mobile browsers usually lack mouse dragging or theAltkey. -
Reset to default
After the order changes, a “Reset to default” button appears in the footer. Clicking it resets the order to the built-in sequence. -
Persistence and synchronization
In DSH 0.1.7-rc.1 and later, the order is saved in thesettings-order.config.orderfield of the host configuration’scordis.patch.yml. It takes effect across browsers, and remote browser environments use alocalStoragebackup.
Installation and Enablement¶
DSH 0.1.7-rc.1 or a later version is required.
Web Environment Installation¶
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-settings-order
After installation, dsh web must be restarted for the client package to take effect. After opening Settings, ↑ / ↓ buttons, a hint row, and a Reset to default button after the first reordering will appear in the left navigation bar.
DSH Desktop Installation¶
DSH Desktop uses a separate harness and desktop profile. The installation command is as follows:
& "D:\DSH Desktop\resources\runtime\cli\bin\dsh.cmd" plugin --profile desktop add dsh-settings-order@0.2.6
Adjust the path to the actual installation location. Restart the application after installation.
Implementation Details¶
- No changes to underlying registration: The plugin does not re-register slots or modify the DOM of other plugins or sessions.
- Safe restart: It does not break startup or add duplicate loader IDs.
- Fault tolerance: If DSH changes the HTML structure in the future, the plugin will not throw an error but will display “Unable to identify settings items” in the footer.
- Optimistic updates: Write operations are optimistic; the local order is applied immediately until the host confirms it.
Ecosystem Context¶
The philosophy of DeepSeek Harness is “everything is a plugin.” This plugin is maintained by community developer jackovibe and is not directly affiliated with DeepSeek’s official team. All configuration is stored in the local host profile.
