Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture. Plugin sources are fragmented, and entry points for discovery, installation, updates, and management are often inconsistent. dsh-m aims to solve this problem by putting DSH plugin discovery, installation, management, and updates into a single interface. The community catalog and manually curated selections are searchable simultaneously; the sidebar panel, 8 Agent tools, and dshm CLI share a single marketplace data set. No additional marketplace server or account is required; plugin operations are still managed by the local DSH host.

Core Features

dsh-m provides a unified plugin management capability, mainly including the following features:

  • Unified Management Interface: The sidebar panel, Agent tools, and command line share the same marketplace data set and support cross-channel search and management.
  • Dual-Source Search: The community catalog and manually curated selections (such as must-install, featured, in-house, etc.) are searchable simultaneously; for duplicate names, the curated entry takes precedence.
  • Security Validation: npm packages pin exact versions and verify integrity; GitHub sources pin commit SHAs.
  • Custom Source Support: Supports HTTPS, local absolute paths, or the file:// protocol, and can replace the curated section entirely.

Installation and Activation

Ensure Node.js version ≥ 22 before installation.

Web Host:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-m

After installation, restart the service and refresh the page.

Desktop Host:
In the official “Plugin Management → Add Plugin”, enter dsh-m to install, then quit and reopen the application.

Typical Usage

After installation, you can manage plugins through the sidebar or the command line.

View installed plugins and the updateable list:

dshm list
dshm outdated

Search plugins (supports Chinese or English):

dshm search --query 主题 --source all

Install, Upgrade, and Uninstall

Install a specified plugin:

dshm install --id dsh-web-search

Upgrade or uninstall a plugin:

dshm upgrade --pkg dsh-web-search --yes
dshm uninstall --pkg dsh-web-search --yes

Toggle and Restart

Toggle a plugin’s running state:

dshm toggle --pkg dsh-web-search --off --yes

Restart the Web service:

dshm restart --yes

Note: The standalone dshm CLI only operates on the web profile; --profile desktop is rejected.

Notes

  • Security Risks: Community inclusion is not a security review. The 4,000+ catalog entries come from diverse sources; missing capability fields indicate “not scanned”, not “no risks found”. Before installation, verify the author, code, and required capabilities.
  • Data Residue: Uninstallation does not automatically clear plugin data; suspected leftover paths are reported separately.
  • Custom Source Behavior: Custom sources are independent snapshots and do not automatically sync with the default curated source. If a source fails, the most recent successful cache for that source is retained; it does not silently fall back to the default.
  • Desktop Limitations: Desktop does not provide the Web host’s one-click restart; changes require quitting and reopening the application as prompted.
