Introduction

In local development projects, image, video, and audio assets are usually stored directly under the project directory. An explorer can provide thumbnails, but it cannot provide tagging, notes, batch annotation, or semantic search capabilities, and AI assistants cannot directly access these local files.

dsh-asset-library is a DeepSeek Harness plugin. It turns media files in a project folder into a browsable, filterable, and annotatable asset panel, and provides Agent tools that allow AI assistants to retrieve these assets through semantic search and obtain absolute paths.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following features:

  • Browsing and Display: Grid view and enlarged cards. Supports thumbnail fill switching (cover/contain).
  • Annotation and Filtering: Tags and notes, collections, batch tagging.
  • Batch Operations: Batch copying paths.
  • Auxiliary Features: Reference pins, progressive directory narrowing, keyboard friendly, dimension detection.

Agent Tools

The plugin registers three Agent tools for model invocation:

  • asset_library_overview: Get an overview of the scanned directory.
  • asset_library_list: Search assets, with filtering by type, keyword, tags, and subdirectory.
  • asset_library_get: Get metadata for a single asset (including detected resolution) and its absolute path.

Installation

Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:

& 'D:\deepseek\resources\runtime\cli\bin\dsh.cmd' plugin --profile desktop add 'G:\工作\dsh\dsh-asset-library'

How It Works and Limitations

  • Zero Dependencies: Does not use ffmpeg. Assets remain in the original project directory; the plugin only indexes and displays them.
  • Directory Filtering: By default, skips directories such as .git, .dsh-assets, and node_modules.
  • Permission Control: The default Agent permission is read-only. You must explicitly configure allowAgentAnnotate: true to allow the Agent to annotate.
  • Security Features: Includes path containment checks, and media endpoints serve only asset extensions.

Typical Usage

  1. Browse Assets: Turn images, videos, and audio files in a project directory into a browsable, filterable panel.
  2. AI Search: Let the AI assistant semantically search assets and obtain absolute paths.
  3. Batch Operations: Select N assets and batch copy their relative paths to the clipboard.
  4. Adjust View: Toggle thumbnail fill mode in the toolbar.

Suitable Scenarios and Notes

This plugin is suitable for scenarios where you need to centrally manage local media assets in DeepSeek Harness, need AI-assisted asset retrieval, or need to batch-obtain asset paths.
