Introduction

The core concept of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a plugin-based desktop development environment. In traditional development workflows, defining tasks, tracking progress, reviewing acceptance evidence, and delivering PRs/MRs are often scattered across different interfaces. guomonth/dsh-devwork aims to solve this problem by providing a task-centered desktop development workspace that integrates task definition, session trees, acceptance evidence, artifact management, and PR/MR delivery into a single conversational flow.

What Is This

This is a DeepSeek Harness plugin maintained by GuoMonth. It is built on DSH and treats a task as the persistent unit of work. The plugin uses session trees to manage parent-child tasks and retry records, and provides acceptance evidence checks, artifact management, and PR/MR delivery integration within the same context. It is currently in its Alpha stage.

Core Features

  • Task-centered desktop development workspace: Organizes development activities around tasks.
  • Session trees: Supports parent-child task hierarchies and retry attempts under the same session.
  • Acceptance evidence checks: Performs requirements-compliance checks during task execution.
  • Artifact management: Persistently manages data such as build artifacts.
  • PR/MR delivery integration: Handles pull requests or merge requests for code repositories directly within the conversation.

Installation and Enablement

The plugin is installed from a local package directory. Before using it, make sure the DeepSeek Harness CLI is installed locally.

  1. Run the installation command in the project root directory:
dsh plugin --profile devwork-demo add ./dsh-devwork
  1. After installation, inspect the configuration to confirm that the plugin has been loaded:
    dsh --profile devwork-demo --dump-config
The output should include the Devwork bundle layer and the `guomonth-devwork` configuration line.

Typical Usage

This plugin is primarily used for task management in local development environments. The following is the complete build-and-enable workflow:

git clone https://github.com/GuoMonth/dsh-devwork.git
cd dsh-devwork
pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
pnpm run verify
pnpm run pack:check
pnpm pack
dsh plugin --profile devwork-demo add ./dsh-devwork
dsh --profile devwork-demo --dump-config

After enabling the plugin, the client panel inserts editable task requests (but does not submit them automatically). The host must provide a task repository and explicit session/agent providers for task creation and execution to become available; otherwise, the status will be displayed as unavailable.

Use Cases and Notes

  • Use cases: DSH users who need to centralize task management, code review, and delivery workflows.
  • Notes:
  • This is a community project and not an official DeepSeek product.
  • The plugin is currently in the Breaking Task-Center Transition (Alpha) stage, and APIs may change.
  • Explicit session and agent providers are required for creation and execution features to work normally.
  • An npm release has not been published yet; it must be installed via local packaging.
  • Native desktop acceptance features are still under development (currently covered by a mock implementation).

Short Conclusion

This plugin provides DSH users with end-to-end management capabilities, from task definition to delivery. For more details or to contribute, see its GitHub repository or the SkillHub directory.
