When processing academic papers or technical documents in the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) conversation environment, editing and reviewing is an iterative process. Traditional editing methods make it difficult to track revision suggestions proposed by AI and lack a version comparison mechanism. The DSH Article Review plugin aims to solve this issue by combining AI revision suggestions with a human review workflow and providing version management capabilities.

Plugin Introduction

This is a Markdown manuscript review plugin maintained by Biogod2020, supporting AI revision suggestions, word-by-word comparison, and BibTeX citation management. It allows users to read, annotate, and revise Markdown manuscripts directly within a DSH session, use AI to propose specific replacement, insertion, or deletion suggestions, and track revision progress through the version comparison feature.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following core capabilities:

  • Reading and Annotation: Supports highlighting, underlining, comments, and manuscript search.
  • AI Revision: AI proposes specific replacement, insertion, or deletion suggestions; supports revisions to headings, lists, and tables.
  • Review Progress Tracking: Supports marking and locking reviewed paragraphs for tracking subsequent changes.
  • Version Comparison: Provides word-by-word comparison and Markdown source code diff comparison.
  • Image and Citation Management: Supports image/PDF preview and replacement suggestions, and provides BibTeX citation binding and checking.

Installation and Enablement

The plugin supports DSH Desktop and Web version 0.2.0-rc.2 or later. When installing, use the pre-built version address from verified facts.

Desktop App

  1. Open the left sidebar in DSH Desktop and go to Plugins.
  2. Click the Add plugin button.
  3. Paste the following pre-built version address:
    github:Biogod2020/dsh-article-review#v0.2.0-rc.3
  1. After installation is complete, click Enable now, and restart the application as prompted.
  2. In the right sidebar, select Read, annotate and revise, and click Browse workspace → Choose local file to open a Markdown manuscript.

Notes:
* Desktop uses a separate desktop profile. Installing to the web profile will not sync to the App.
* If the GitHub address times out, you can download the pre-built archive for v0.2.0-rc.3, save it as a .tar.gz file, and enter the absolute path of that file in Plugins -> Add plugin.

Web

Node.js 22 (≥22.19) or 24+ is required.

dsh plugin --profile web add 'github:Biogod2020/dsh-article-review#v0.2.0-rc.3'
dsh web

After installation, restart the running Web profile.

Typical Usage

After installing and enabling the plugin, you can review manuscripts using the following steps:

  1. Open the Manuscript: In the right sidebar, select Read, annotate and revise, select a Markdown manuscript file from the workspace, and open it.
  2. Interact and Annotate: Select text to highlight or add annotations, send the annotation content to AI, and request revisions.
  3. Review and Process: In the Review changes panel, accept, reject, or request re-revision of AI suggestions. After processing, mark the paragraph as reviewed.

Accepting revisions updates the manuscript content and preserves the review baseline. It is recommended to include the generated .paper-review/ directory in backups and exclude it from public Git history.

Applicable Scenarios and Precautions

  • Applicable Scenarios: Suitable for users who need to write Markdown-format papers or technical documents in DSH and collaborate with AI for review.
  • Version Compatibility: Ensure the DSH environment version is at least 0.2.0-rc.2.
  • Profile Mechanism: Plugin installation paths for Desktop and Web are separate. Choose the corresponding installation command based on the client you actually use.
