Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture, designed to extend native capabilities with community plugins. When using DSH for model inference, developers often need to integrate with OpenAI subscription services and handle connection issues in local network environments (for example, direct connection or proxying through Clash). The dsh-chatgpt-subscription plugin provides a complete solution, covering ChatGPT subscription login, primary Agent model selection, and direct/Clash network settings.

Plugin Overview

This plugin is independently maintained by BaoBao1996121 and is released under the MIT license. It reuses DSH’s built-in openai-codex adapter, OAuth login service, credential storage, and automatic renewal mechanism, allowing users to use a ChatGPT subscription without manually managing an API key. The plugin supports running in the DSH Desktop 0.2.0-rc.2 / Windows environment and provides the gpt-6.1-sol text model option.

Installation

Run the following command in a terminal to install the pinned version:

dsh plugin --profile desktop add github:BaoBao1996121/dsh-chatgpt-subscription#v0.1.3

After installation is complete, restart the DSH application.

Configuration and Usage

After installing and restarting DSH, complete the configuration by following these steps:

  1. Configure the network mode
Open Settings → ChatGPT Subscription. Select Direct or Use Clash for “Network mode”, and enter the local HTTP/Mixed port for Clash (the example address is http://127.0.0.1:21158; replace it with the actual port). Click Save connection mode.

  2. Log in to OpenAI
Click Log in to OpenAI. The plugin will invoke the local Chrome or Edge browser to open the OAuth login page. After successful login, the credentials will be stored in DSH’s native credential file, and DSH will handle subsequent automatic renewal.

  3. Set the primary Agent model
Select the target model from the model list (for example, gpt-6.1-sol), then click Set as primary Agent default model. After that, create a new session; the new session will automatically use this default model.

Note: For existing sessions, the model must be switched within the session.

Network Mode Description

The plugin provides two network modes. Switching modes only affects OpenAI requests made afterward:

  • Direct
OpenAI requests use an explicit direct connection and ignore Node environment proxies; the login browser will also be launched with --no-proxy-server. However, system-level TUN, VPN, or routing policies may still take over the traffic.
  • Use Clash
Both OpenAI requests and the login browser explicitly connect to the configured local HTTP proxy. The final egress traffic follows Clash’s rule configuration. If Clash is turned off or the port configuration is incorrect, the connection will fail.

Notes

  • Environment requirements: This plugin was developed and verified for DSH Desktop 0.2.0-rc.2 / Windows. The browser launch entry point has not yet been adapted for other systems.
  • Model capabilities: gpt-6.1-sol is a text model and is declared to support only text input and the low reasoning level. Newer model features such as context limits and image capabilities have not yet been verified.
  • Permissions and security: The plugin runs with the DSH process permissions. Login credentials are stored locally. Never publicly upload .credentials.yaml or the login browser directory.
  • Uninstall behavior: Uninstalling the plugin removes the login page and network hook, but saved login information, default model settings, and native adapter settings will be retained. To roll back, restore the pre-installation profile configuration or select the original model again.
