Introduction

Within the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin ecosystem, connecting devices outside WSL environments (such as mobile phones, IoT devices, or legacy system agents) often requires developing clients for specific platforms. dsh-device-bridge is a generic Companion protocol client. It serves as an optional companion plugin for dsh-wsl-kit and provides standard HTTP interfaces for integrating various devices.

Plugin Overview

This project is maintained by user 173787247 and is released under the MIT License. It is not included in the install.sh script and must be installed manually. It is designed to allow any device that implements the /v1/health and /v1/invoke endpoints to integrate with the DSH system. It shares the same protocol as dsh-mac-companion, while direct SSH connections use dsh-remote-ssh.

Core Features

This plugin provides the following DSH plugin commands:

  • device_list: Lists configured devices.
  • device_status: Sends a GET request to /v1/health to check device health status.
  • device_invoke: Sends a POST request to /v1/invoke to invoke a device operation (actions are restricted by a whitelist).

Installation and Enabling

Before installing, ensure that your Node.js version is 18 or higher.

dsh plugin --profile web add github:173787247/dsh-device-bridge

After installation, you can start the sample service by running the following command:

python3 companion/mock_server.py --port 18766 --kind phone

Typical Usage

For lightweight devices (such as Android Termux), you can use the sample code provided with the Python standard library:

python3 examples/termux-companion.py --port 18767

The configuration file is located at examples/devices.cordis.snippet.yml. Note: the chat entry point on the phone is still handled by dsh-wsl-im; this plugin only handles device-side capability implementations.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

  • Optional companion: This is an optional plugin and is not included in install.sh; it must be installed manually.
  • Environment requirement: Node.js >= 18 is required.
  • Permissions and license: Please review the source code and license before installing.
  • Protocol standard: Devices to be integrated must implement the standard Companion protocol interfaces.

Summary

With dsh-device-bridge, developers can manage the integration of phones, IoT devices, and legacy agents in a unified way. For more details, refer to the GitHub repository.
