Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides plugin-based extensibility. When developing or debugging with an agent, status feedback (such as task completion, errors, or requests for approval or answers) is often scattered across the conversation flow or background logs. The dsh-task-toast plugin aggregates these statuses and displays them uniformly in the top-right corner of the page, providing intuitive visual feedback.

Plugin Overview

dsh-task-toast is a pure client-side plugin designed to visualize agent runtime statuses. It follows the design language of dsh-theme-endfield, requires no build steps, and can be used directly after installation via command.

Core Features

  • Top-right status board: Displays agent statuses in the top-right corner of the page.
  • Supported status types:
    • Complete (COMPLETE)
    • Error (ERROR)
    • Session not opened (UNOPENED)
    • Subagent running (SUBAGENT)
    • Awaiting approval (APPROVAL)
    • Awaiting answer (QUESTION)
  • Interaction and visuals:
    • While a status is held, the full status board is displayed; it collapses into a thin strip after timeout or processing.
    • Hovering over the thin strip re-expands the status board.
    • The visual style follows the Endfield design language.
  • Multi-channel notifications:
    • In-page status board: always visible.
    • System notification: triggered when the user is not directly viewing DSH.
    • Title bar prefix: displays a status marker in the taskbar/tab.

Installation and Enabling

The plugin does not require any build steps and can be installed directly through the DSH command line.

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add github:jgao9906-droid/dsh-task-toast

After installation, restart or reload the web profile for changes to take effect.

Development debugging

To modify source code and have changes take effect immediately, you can use the link: method:

dsh plugin --profile web add link:<你 clone 下来的路径>

Uninstall

dsh plugin --profile web rm dsh-task-toast

Notes

  • Browser permissions: On first use, notification permission must be granted in the browser. Once granted, the permission state is remembered in localStorage, and DSH will not ask again unless the permission is denied.
  • Version compatibility: The plugin depends on DSH version 0.1.5-rc.x.
  • Platform compatibility:
    • Supports regular browser environments.
    • Supports DSH Desktop (Tauri shell) environments. On Tauri, the host corrects the visibility state.
  • System behavior:
    • On Windows, the display duration of system notifications is determined by system settings (Settings > System > Notifications); the plugin cannot control this.
    • On DSH Desktop (Tauri), the notification authorization prompt does not appear; the host takes over directly.

Summary

dsh-task-toast provides a zero-dependency, no-build status feedback solution. Through the top-right status board and system notifications, it ensures that developers or users can promptly track agent runtime statuses, including transient completion/error states and approval/answer requests that require human intervention. For developers who need to closely monitor agent statuses, this is a practical auxiliary tool.
