Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture. Memory and state management for an Agent usually require manual maintenance. The dsh-journal-calendar plugin is designed to solve this problem. It allows an Agent to record daily actions and plans as JSON files, displays them in a calendar view in the right sidebar of the Web interface, and provides a checkable todo list.
What is it¶
This is a client-side plugin maintained by crease123, released under the MIT license. It packages three features into one Bundle Row:
* Host service: Provides a journal Remote namespace under the $DSH_HOME/journal path.
* Tool: Provides the journal_record tool and a fixed Duty Prompt area.
* Browser side: A calendar card in the right sidebar, showing the monthly view and the TODO and MEMORY areas for the selected date.
Core Features¶
- File storage: Stores journal files by date in pure JSON format under the
$DSH_HOME/journaldirectory. - Tool invocation: Provides the
journal_recordtool, which supports recordingkind(such astodoplans ormemorymemories),title,detail,tags, and other information. - Calendar visualization: Draws a monthly calendar grid in the right sidebar and marks data for each day.
- Interactive tasks: The TODO items below the calendar support checkbox interaction, and the checked state is written back to the corresponding daily file in real time.
- Inline editing: Supports inline editing of the Duty Prompt (role prompt sentence) via a button in the interface. The text is saved to
$DSH_HOME/journal/duty.md. - Manual editing: Supports direct manual editing of JSON journal files.
Installation and Activation¶
The installation command is as follows. After installation, the package is resolved automatically and the Web interface is deployed:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-journal-calendar
After executing the installation command, reload the page to see the Calendar / Journal tab in the right sidebar.
If you need to pin the version:
dsh-journal-calendar@0.2.0
If you need to customize the journal storage directory, you can add a dir option to the configuration:
- id: journal
name: dsh-journal-calendar
config:
dir: /absolute/path/to/journal
Typical Usage¶
- Agent usage: While working, an Agent invokes the
journal_recordtool to record tasks or memories. If the sameidis recorded repeatedly, the tool returns the stored entry rather than adding a duplicate. - Manual maintenance: Journal files are located at
$DSH_HOME/journal/<YYYY-MM-DD>.json. An example file structure is shown below:
{
"version": 1,
"date": "2026-09-30",
"entries": [
{
"id": "…",
"kind": "todo",
"time": "20:00",
"title": "跑 2 公里",
"done": false
}
]
}
Notes¶
- Dependency environment: The
dsh plugincommand actually invokespnpm, sopnpmmust be installed on the target machine. - Build authorization: If installing from Git repository source (
git+https://github.com/crease123/dsh-journal-calendar), the project will be built locally. You need to add anallowBuildsconfiguration in the profile’spnpm-workspace.yamland authorize it. - File format: Stored JSON files must remain valid. Malformed formats cause hard errors instead of automatic repair.
- Process restart: If Typert Artifacts are regenerated, you must restart the DSH Host to load the new definitions.
- Node version: The verified Node versions are 22.19.0 and 26.4.0; versions 24 and 25 are unverified.
Summary¶
dsh-journal-calendar provides DSH Agents with structured daily recording capabilities through standardized JSON files and a visual calendar. The files are user-owned and support manual editing, making this plugin suitable for developers who need long-term tracking of Agent behavior and plans.
